Bro I just went out on my own as a one man show. And have worked my wag up in the last 21 years since may of 03 from a shop hand in high school at a large hvac company in my area. Have worked my ass off to get here and am loving it and seriously enjoy fixing ppls problems and since I have worked up from the bottom I've got a very complete understanding so I absolutely get this! And love to know there are more ppl out here like me and my big bro that's been at it in his own the last ten years! We truly care to help ppl! And are both very knowledgeable and worked out way up and of duct monkey different ways but are both here now that I caught up

To be honest you are one of my favorite techs to watch. Thinking about joining soon. Just need to work it into the budget. Thanks for video. I guess my question is if you have time is what kind of camera do you use? thinking about getting one to record my progress as an apprentice in the DMV..and maybe some of my nature walks in state parks but thats off topic I think. Alright, take care. Thanks again

I really appreciate you watching me. It means a lot to me that you like my videos. I don't have any fancy camera equipment. I just use my cell phone to record my videos. I have a Galaxy S23 Ultra Samsung Android phone. I use the editing software built into the phone, so it's super easy, and it's in the gallery.. I think that would be interesting content for sure you need to do it. I think you will do great things my friend.

Idea for a video is how you began your business, ideas on how to grow customer base, and how you got the phones to start ringing. Ok, I just watched the part that you realized removing the jumper was a bad idea. I feel a little better, cus I already knew why that was there. If it’s dual powered by two separate 24 volts sources. 1 for heat and 1 for cool, lol! I’m glad you showed making a mistake on a video. That’s says a lot about character! I assume you’re in the south, I’m in Maine, I see a lot of boilers and separate AC units using that dual powered feature as the systems are totally separate. You probably don’t see that as much as most of yours are gas/electric package heat pump units. Which of course use the same single 24 volt supply. But you sure thought me a ton on air flow, thank you. I have a lot of air systems up here but I’m not as skilled in it as I am with the oil/hydronic systems I mainly work on. Thanks for teaching me so much!

When you said you pulled that jumper I was like oh no. RH is for red heat, RC is for red cooling. Not common. It’s a weird old school thing to have different thermostats for heat and cool. Great work and great job being so thorough. I’m glad you showed your mistake. That’s straight up.

I use Resource by Carrier to provide a real load calc on the structure. It's obsolete but still provides proof for most climate zones. It also will lay out dimensioned fittings of any type or size. I do that manually anyway, but if I had too many

Rh & Rc only comes into play if you need to separate two 24v sources, one for cooling and one fore heating. We run into this mostly with oil furnaces that has fan relays with cooling also

I do like your straight forward approach, I've been doing HVAC & R many years if your customer doesn't have a good knowledge of hvac i always take the time to explain at there level about the equipment so they can make an educated decision and they can understand facts. Oversized equipment is a rookie move uneducated customers will pay for oversized equip. An the down the road it will take someone such as yourself to explain that they oversized equip. Is why you cant get the humidity down.

It happens a lot glad to know that you have a good knowledge of this happening in the field It happens quite often And yes humidity in tennessee is very high and oversizing is one way to never Bring the humidity down in a home

You telling the truth man. Had this hvac company come over to check out my 5 ton unit and this guy already was up selling me the capacitor even though the compressor was the main issue. I do have nice house, fast cars but common sense told me a capacitor does not cost 450 plus tax. He told me I was a penny pincher. I told him good day and paid his trip fee. He was cursing under his breath on his way out the driveway.😂

I would just recommend people get a single stage straight cool or single stage heatpump. If a customer just wants a two stage, I'd recommend strongly a straight cool. I'm not not really that sold on a huge efficiency gain for heatpumps going from single to two stage. Don't even want to mention all the possible issues a two stage heatpump could cause in the future. a singlestage heatpump is already pretty dang efficient at single stage.
