Every animal is a big commitment, people don’t realize when they see cute kitties, puppies , piggies , etc that is is a lifestyle and honestly , monetary commitment for the long haul. She was snuggled right up to you Jami, and she looks like she had a smile in the video. You and Lester are such softies. It’s a shame people are mislead when they buy them pigs. Like at Easter when people buy rabbits and then grow tired of them and release them into the wild. So sad.. she’s a lucky beautiful girl that’s for sure
@Gloria-ro4vn

Of course the sad truth is, domesticated rabbits die because they can not live in the wild. I also get mad at people who buy ducklings at Easter. Ducks are dirty and messy, so of course when that duckling grows up people don't want them and then they are dumped.

MAYBE she is your answer to Journey having a companion, even tho you’re trying Sissy. You gotta tell Lester just because he’s got a pretty face and bats his eyes at you isn’t going to work anymore. It’s both of you in this now. Frankly, I’d smack him with the pan before you sterilize it. What was he thinking! He doesn’t truly realize what he has with you as a partner. Thank you for sharing Lola’s backstory, everybody has one, good or bad. Pet Lola for me….I keep hearing Barry Manilow in my head. You know Jamie, I’ve thought for several years that children’s books about the sanctuary animals would be a big hit. I know you guys have busy lives and there is only so much time in the day. But you have a chance to teach lessons and Lola’s story is just that. Maybe it’s time to test the waters. I know your followers would purchase the books if they were available. The number of followers you have might catch the attention of a publisher. There are publishers that will buy stories and use there own illustrators. Or you can self publish. If it’s something that interests you I’ll bet someone would volunteer to research self publishing. I really think you guys have stories to tell and not just online. Love you! I think, given the chance, you and Lola can be best buds. Ooo! Lester would be so jealous.

Thanks for that explanation, Jamie. So many of us were asking the same questions you were. In Lester’s video about Lola’s arrival and her story, it was easy to tell how sensitive he was about being asked about where she came from, and why and how she came to be with y’all. You could tell he was trying to be nice about it, but he told us that not every animal has a story, and that if y’all want to bring another animal to the farm, then this was something he could do without explaining it to everyone. - He wasn’t his usual self. - I think he misunderstood our questions. At least in my case. I wasn’t thinking he owed anyone an explanation, but since y’all have explained every other animal’s backstory, we were simply curious about Lola (Lolllita). - Anyhoo, I think most of us animal lovers have been caught in a moment of weakness and brought home an animal we hadn’t planned on; we understand. And Lola is a cutie; hope she turns out to be as good a fit for the farm as she looks to be.

We also treat them as medical experiments n to test our products. Covid they were giving to the long tail macaques n then testing the vaccines on them. Pigs they use for forensic type things there the animal with the closest skin texture to ours. Way more things it's so sad to see 20 monkeys run to a corner n hug each other in such fright. I do not like that monkeys are pack animals n if that monkey wants to be alpha n your in the way they will. I dont know alot about pigs cuz my fav is monkeys I 100% would never get 1 or a pig unless I had a farm or a animal sanctuary we have a bit of them for monkeys n chimps here in the USA I live in the city n we are not allowed pigs here animal control will come get them so u have to try to hide a pig.

Jami, what a great video. And you're exactly right people don't realize or do their research before getting a new pet, in this case Lola. Yes all babies are cute and beautiful when they're tiny little ones but in the case of a pig those little teeny piglets grow up to be big. And it's not the pig's fault that someone falls in love with them because they're so cute and tiny. And I can see how Lester had a weak moment when it came to Lola. She is adorable and she's a little unique with her coloring. All of the other pigs on the sanctuary are black. Roland was the only other one that was different. So maybe Lola reminded Lester of Roland, and he just couldn't say no. So Jami, I think maybe you need to dress Lola up with a bonnet, maybe a tutu and even paint her toenails. Because I'm sure you've already fallen in love with her. Now it's our turn to fall in love with her as well. Thank you for everything that you and Lester do for all of those beautiful animals. ❤️❤️❤️

Because in the genetics there was a bigger dog, so with it has to be the same for All Animals!! People need to understand that! Every thing is up to God , Mother Nature or the Creator! She does live in the country and has a very nice pen for them outside now, as they are both over 300 lbs hogs. Oh they still "sit" for a treat. She had them both fixed, she had a time finding a vet that would do it or knew how to do it. I can't get over how these two cute tiny pigs grew to be so huge!! I can empathize with you on many levels, Jami. Being a Rottweiler person, when I lost my last on to liver cancer, I was devastated. Shortly after, my fiance bought a Jack Russell pup for his teenaged son. There was one pup left over, a female, so we went back the next day, his son and I, to get her...for my fiance. When we got home I presented John with HIS pup and he informed me that she was actually MINE. That did not go over well, especially with her bonding to John. I wanted and still want a Rottweiler in my life. That breed " completes me". Anyway, John went to jail over a misunderstanding, and due to covid, is still there...16 months and counting. Meanwhile, less than a week after he had been gone, his girl became pregnant and delivered 6 pups. He asked me to hold on to them till he got out. Then the lockdown...I still have 8 JRTs in the house...alone. His son cut and run when the pups were about 4 months old. They are over a year old. Yeah, I can empathize...

We just moved to a farm and at setting up more areas for future rescues/fosters that will be needed. We will only take on what we can and hope to eventually get communities to help support us in the way they do with you all. We have 2 and a third on the way. There will be more. You are so right Jami, people have got to stop buying animals like they are plush toys and them "dumping" them the infatuation wears off!

Thank you, Jami. This kind if education is important. I have owned Weimaraners for 40 years. I started before I heard of William Wegman, who photographs Weims. But when his popularity grew, so did the Weim population and so did the need for rescue, which I have been doing for almost 40 years. Some will say you are preaching to the choir with your message, but I say that the bigger the choir gets, the louder the message for more to hear. Keep it up, Jami. I'm singing with you.

Jami, that was a great message for those of us who are non-farmers types. We kinda know what we are getting with kittens and puppies. Farm animals not so much. Lola is a sweetie. Glad Lester had a weak moment. Love you all!!

She is a great pig! Glad you can reinforce the pig growth and behavior cycle, so that people have an inkling of what they are taking on.

Thank you Jami for educating people. Pigs aren't going to stay tiny, they'll want to be outside and more. And shame on all those people convincing people that pigs stay little.

I believe that soft hearts can get us in trouble. Five years ago my husband and I had one inside kitty and 2 outside dogs. We moved to the country after retirement and have rescued 9 feral cats! We had them all fixed, we still put them inside garage and extra room at night. We are getting older and health issues are causing us to not have the time we need to spend with them. Jamie I love your attitude and compassion for all! 💜🙏🦋🌸 from Texas

What a great reminder to people, Jami, of the dangers around taking on a pig. Lucky Lola, indeed, and those beautiful eye lashes she has. She is so calmed by your voice, as we all are. You are a good sport Jami!♥️ 💚💚
