I am glad I have seen this videos. I am glad where I am now. Just a class B driver with a passenger and school bus endorsement. Sure I wish I would make more money BUT wishing is not the same as motivation. I'm home every night and work mostly a 40 hour week. Sure I am not with the big boy but I do really enjoy driving a bus.

I was hit with bells palsy while working as company team driver, half my face was paralleled I was off by my supervisor at that time on sick leave. If your familiar with bells palsy it's one of those illnesses that 50/50 recovery. Today my face has recovered my recovery is a slow one but I consider a success. Tried going back to work with the former company and was told I took too long I lost time I had to start from ground zero as a new on board company driver. I would like to hear your opinion. Thanks Vic.

I was a lease operator twice, and I wholly disagree with you. If you get enough miles, then yeah you can do well, but if not, you're setting yourself up to fail. Freedom? Ha! There's a reason they call lease operators slaves to their steering wheels. It's true! Leasing is simply that. Leasing. You're never gonna own that truck unless you can cough up a huge balloon payment. Getting paid by the mile as a lease operator is financial suicide. The vast majority drown financially unless they're on percentage. I had multiple weeks of no paycheck. I was and am a long term gain, short term sacrifice person. You my friend are the exception to the rule. That's great! But don't make people believe you can succeed when it all comes down to working your ever loving ass off, ANY home time hurts like hell financially, and it will be rare. Unless you're training rookies or teaming, DO NOT LEASE! I only fueled in network. It WON'T save you. Unless your lease has you owning that truck in the end, and it's a decent truck (Peterbilt or Kenworth) you're making out no better than a company driver nine times out of 10. I do all these things the OP is recommending. I buy groceries and cook on my truck. The first time I leased, I didn't know what I was doing and it was a disaster. The second time I leased, I got the hell off that sinking ship before it took me down with it and changed back to company driver. Freedom as a lease operator is a joke. It's not your truck until you have title in hand. You can't do what you want to do. You both can't afford to, and the company dictates how it looks. All they're gonna let you do is slap a sticker on it with your LLC at mosy places. Woo hoo! Sarcasm...

I would have thought that working for one company, you would be assigned whatever loads you are licensed for. I would think the company would be responsible for the loads and trailers.

@Still Iraise Some companies toward the end of lease will cut ✂️ back on the miles so you cannot finish the lease and make balloon payment. I think that's what he's talking about.

Only thing I disagree with is waiting till the legal limit to change your tires. A blowout on the side of the interstate is expensive you also have things like rolling resistance and lack of traction could result in a bad day. And one one tire start to wear weird it will start to cause your other tires to wear weird.

I've never heard of anyone getting a blowout for running their tires down. It's usually low air pressure or a faulty recap.

If I'm able can I put a larger down payment for your lease operator program so I can own the truck sooner.

Your right in a way. I got into my freightliner with 300 miles. Full warranty until 500k miles. Lease is set up for 3 1/2 year's. Should walk away with 60 thousand miles left on warranty. Honestly don't see why anyone would lease for a used worn out truck! You could go and purchase a 300k truck for $35 thousand from auction. You would get the same piece of mind and headache from that auction truck! Most used leases have been recycled so many times it should terrify you

You scared us so much about O/O and then you say company driver is no use for long run. Spill the beans tell us being O/O is better than company driver. Stress is in everything in life. You get married with beautiful woman and she gives you stress you will have kids and they will give you stress your body will give you stress. Even if you take king of any country he has stress even being wealthy and king. The only thing which doesn't have stress is death.
