Was brought up a vegetarian for the first sixteen years of my life. I came across a video like this one and it led me to do more research on the dairy and egg industry. Told my family who were all already veggie and we all switched on the spot after they saw some of the videos on these industries. Keep up the good work because without them I and a lot of people won't see the truth

Omg heeeey, I'm seventeen and also vegan for over a year :))) my parents first were not that happy about it but now my mom's almost vegan. I'm so so happy because I can see in her eyes that she's proud of me and finally understands me ❤️ My dad recently went to his doctor who told him that the results of his blood test are great and that he also lost weight and asked him why, and my father told him that he is mostly vegetarian :) I am so happy about that.

Joey, you are doing great work! Keep being a voice for the animals! BTW, I saw the UK news article today in the "The Telegraph." It's great to see the vegan movement getting mainstream publicity. That being said, I definitely thought the article was bias in favor of the slaughter houses as they referred to vegan activists as "violent." I think the article should have focused on the violence that the animals experience everyday in slaughter houses! I've personally never met a violent vegan. We vegans are some of the most peaceful people that carnivores will ever meet! ✌️💚

It’s weird if you think about it... drugs are illegal, selling YOUR body is illegal, in other words it’s illegal to harm yourself. But it’s ok and perfectly legal to consume unhealthy and potentially deadly animals products. And it’s not only your health in jeopardy but there’s also an innocent being that didn’t want to die hanging in the balance. Just a thought...

Cigarettes are still legal though and what’s going on with the meat, dairy, & egg industries perfectly mirrors what big tobacco did back in the day. Pay for studies, pay off doctors, tons of ads, they even said themselves : “just introduce doubt” and they’ll just keep doing what they were already doing. Like how people that watch What the Health just say “oh that’s bullshit!” carbs make you fat eggs are healthy blah blah blah The public is scientifically illiterate.

No that's not the point I'm making actually. I've been listening and reading the arguments that Vegans apply to people who are not Vegans and I've noticed that a lot of Vegans drive. I'm not referring to car accidents. I'm referring to the fact that driving a car is not cost neutral to 'innocent' living things. A Vegan argument is that people have a choice not to eat meat... well Vegans have a choice not to drive cars but they do anyway, knowing that it is not cost neutral to living things. I could use one of Joey's arguments when he says things like, 'did that pig choose to die' ... well did all the living things that get splattered over your car, when you choose to drive, 'choose to die', so you could go from A-B. No they didn't but look at the grill on your radiator sometime and the death that's written all over that lump of metal. I doubt you eat flying insects but you kill them in your car journeys for the convenience of travel. And when Joey compares a pig with a dog... then why not insects too (which some cultures do eat obviously). The Majority of Vegans do not live a cost neutral life to living things and I eat animal products (I don't insects and I drive too).

Another great film. And from an activist point of view I found this so helpful and inspiring. I was part of a Vegan Outreach on Saturday. My 3rd outing. Up to then I'd only been an online activist. We were focusing on dairy and I was speaking to one lady who initially said that dairy didn't cause cancer. It was all in the mind and this was all lies. By the time I was finished her point of view was changing and she was open to the information I was sharing. Actually agreeing with any points I made. And she wanted to take information with her. I had about 4 or 5 similar conversations like that. One gentleman, who'd been vegetarian, left the leaflets with me to go and do shopping. I wasn't sure if he would return. But he did and asked to try some of our Vegan samples. Thank you Joey for all your amazing work. What you and Ed do have me the courage to stand up for what we know is right!

Veganism is not a diet, it is a philosophy that extends to diet. Interesting how people are trained to use euphemism when referring to dead cows, fish, pigs and chicken... they call it beef, meat, & pork to make themselves feel good about eating dead animals. Natural Jade What's the ultimate goal of the vegan ideolgy? Ultimately to liberate animals from captivity, right? To give them the right to be free from suffering, harm, and exploitation caused by humans...right? Okay. Now, let's play pretend. Let's say that the animals were released back into the wild, not all at once..of course. I mean it is immoral to confine them, right? So sanctuary "farms" are a no go, because they are no different than the internment camps used in WW2 and in the end there just wouldn't be enough room for the growing population of newly freed animals. Afterall, it is immoral to deny animals they're reproductive rights or force our will upon them, right? So, ALL of those domesticated animals are now feral, wild, and highly successful animals. We humans would no longer enslave them or kill them for food and their numbers would increase exponentially generation upon generation. Eventually, they will encroach human habitats and farms looking for food, just as wild "pest" animals do now. Is it morally permissible to cause the unnecessary suffering and death of a wild (pest) cow needlessly for your taste pleasure and convenience? You cannot appeal to "survival, tho". Humans survived and thrived for 400,000+yrs before domesticated crops even existed. I mean, name one modern domesticated crop that you cannot 100% SURVIVE without. That you are 110% guaranteed to DIE if you do not eat it. You do have a choice not to unnecessarily murder _exdomesticated_ wild animals needlessly for your food and taste pleasure. Are you gonna try to tell me that innocent wild "pest" animals lack moral value because you like the taste of lentils or watermelon or strawberries or tofu or whole wheat bread or chocolate or any other product from modern domesticated crops? You have the option to *_not_* eat commercially grown food and continue to contribute to the needless suffering and death of sentient beings. Name the trait that is absent in wild "pest" animals that justifies the unnecessary suffering and death of sentient beings needlessly for your taste pleasure and convenience. *Name the trait absent in **_wild_** "pest" animals that, if absent in humans, would justify human murder.*

Emmy Hucker If all humans became vegan, we would still be causing the most suffering and death of "innocent sentient beings". Its all about comparative perspective. Right now, vegans compare themselves to nonvegans. What happens when everyone is vegan. Would there be an Übervegan? Someone who advocates against the new vegan status quo of mass killing of animals via industrial crop production and inevitable progress of the human civilization? How would that Übervegan seek to cause the least amount of suffering and death compared to the rest of the "mass-murdering" vegans and the new status quo of animal genocide? Vegans fully admit that animals do die in industrial crop production and other endeavours associated with human progress. They say it's "necessary" or "its not a zero sum game". What does that have anything to do with whether or not animals have moral value? Are they not sentient beings same as any vegan? Why is it moral to unnecessarily "murder" sentient beings needlessly for *_your_* food, but immoral for anyone else? *Name the trait absent in **_wild_** animals that, if absent in humans, would justify human murder.*
@EmmyHucker
6 жыл бұрын
Slow down mate 😅 I have no idea where you pulled all that from a genuine compliment towards Joey's work. We are concentrating on the incredible injustices we are facing *NOW.* Veganism is a philosophy that aims to minimise all suffering, so if the world were to become fully vegan, there would obviously have to be extensive thought on preserving as many lives as possible during crop production! But the world won't go vegan overnight, and this 'issue' you have mentioned will likely have a solution that is gradually built upon as the world progresses. It is futile to stress about 'Übervegans' at this current moment. I see that you have passion and it would be wonderfully rewarding for you to channel it into the vegan movement. Have a great day ✌

A rock, being conscious, is not the same as them being sentient. In Danish we call sentience "føleevne" which directly translated means 'able to feel'. Rocks do not feel, in terms of sensation. Sensation is the process of sensing organs communicating with a brain. Rocks don't have brains. And like Earthling Ed brings up so often, to counter the 'plants feel pain' argument, there's no evolutionary point in plants (nor rocks) to feel pain because they can not flee from danger. Plants are rooted, and rocks, well they're rocks aren't they? The whole point of pain, evolutionary speaking, is to signal "this is dangerous, this is hurting you, get away!" to the brain. But yes, I'm an animist, meaning I recognize that everything is conscious. The simple explanation is that consciousness precedes matter, therefore there can be no such thing as unconscious matter. Anyway, that's my take on the 'rocks are conscious' thing.
