This is a rare lecture by Swami Prabhavananda, a disciple of Maharaj, Swami Brahmananda - the spiritual son of Sri Ramakrishna.
The lecture was recorded with studio audio equipment which is why Swami's voice is so clear. We're included some early photographs of the Swami, from he late 1920s to the early 1930s.
Swami Prabhavananda was a disciple of Maharaj, Swami Brahmananda, the spiritual son of Sri Ramakrishna. He met many of the Direct Disciples and Holly Mother, Sri Saradadevi.
Prabhavananda came to the US in the 1923 as an assistant minister of the Vedanta Society of San Francisco and in 1930 he founder of the Vedanta Society of Southern California.
in 1944 the Swami and Christopher Isherwood published their translation of the Bhagavad Gita, which became the best selling English Gita, used in many colleges and universities as a text book. It sold over 1,000,000 copies.
In the following decades he attracted some of the leading intellectuals, scientists, authors, and spiritual seekers including Aldous Huxley, Christopher Isherwood, and Gerald Heard.
