Heresy. #32: "Satan is a name denoting the deviation of a human will from truth. It is not the designation of a natural being." This is heresy. St Isaac the Syrian was a heretic.

He wasn't a heretic because that had not specifically been condemned as a heresy at that point. Had it been, he may have conformed to the teaching of the Church. So while the view is heretical, it is not correct to call him a heretic.

That's ridiculous logic. How could somebody be condemned as a heretic BEFORE they said anything? All of the heretics were condemned AFTER they expressed their heretical opinions. And what St Isaac said about the devil is plainly heresy. @@joer9156
