You are mentioning that Herzl had no Jewish education, which is not totally accurate. Until the age of 10 Herzl went to a Jewish school. His grandfather was a religious Jew who went to the same Synagogue as Rav Jehuda Alkalaj. He accompanied his father regularly on Shabbat and on the holidays to Synagogue. He read the Haftara on his Barmizwa in the Dohany Synagogue in Pest (Budapest). His family was assimilated, but traditional.

While the modern concept of nation-state dates to the 19th century, the Jewish self-conceptualization as a nation does actually go all the way back to the kingdom of Judea. The entirety of Judaism exists for the purpose of maintaining this sense national belonging. It is a national and cultural identity codified in the form of theology. The Torah, written 2500-2000 years ago, mentions the Nation of Israel many times. Even if you disbelieve the details of the stories, you can't say the people did not see themselves as a nation even back then, and if you learn about Judaism and it's practices you will begin to notice how every facet of Jewish everyday life contains not just references to but specific commandments to maintain the connection to the homeland and Jerusalem.

Jews are a people as much as all human beings. People can be grouped by race, colour, ethnicity, religion, language or 'territory. To accept Jewish claim to 'Palestine' would require USA, Australia, New Zealand to give up their countries and hand these territories back to the aborigins. Religious belief such as 'promised land' which according to the Jewish belief was a 'promise' by 'God' to the Jews, is not an acceptable basis of regaining geographic territory belonging to others according to the international laws. This claim of 'homeland' was invented by Herzl and similarly, a claim can be invented by Hindus or Muslims or Christians that the 'World' has been 'promised' to their religion by their 'God' or gods and therefore according to your logic only Hindus or Muslim or Christians would be allowed to 'self-determine' the status of the 'World' with the exclusion of everyone else. So the 'World' must be ruled by them and everyone else will become 2nd class citizens.

Theodor Herzl (2 May 1860 - 3 July 1904) was an Austro-Hungarian Jewish journalist and political activist who was the father of modern political Zionism. Herzl formed the Zionist Organization and promoted Jewish immigration to Palestine in an effort to form a Jewish state. “We shall have to spirit the penniless population across the border by procuring employment for them in the transit country’s while denying it any employment in our own country. Both the process of expropriation and the removal of the poor must be carried out discreetly and circumspectly.” (Theodore Herzl June 1895 - The complete diaries of Theodore Herzel Volume I page 88). “It is essential that the sufferings of Jews. . . become worse. . . this will assist in realization of our plans. . .I have an excellent idea. . . I shall induce antisemites to liquidate Jewish wealth. . . The antisemites will assist us thereby in that they will strengthen the persecution and oppression of Jews. The antisemites shall be our best friends”. (From the Theodor Herzl Diary, Part I, pp. 16)

There were no Palestinians. It was a truly underpopulated and underdeveloped land. One look at the statistics will prove that. In 1860, there were 350,000 people in the entire land, today there are over 14 million. There were between 250,000 and 350,000 people in the land for thousands of years. That amount would fit in less than half of Jerusalem and leave the rest of the country empty.

Judaism is an old religion, so old that it dates to a time when most if not all groups of people had their own religion. For example, the Greeks had Greek gods, the Egyptians had Egyptian gods, etc. As such, there was and is still a link between the identity of the people and the religion.

"After 1881 assassination of Alexander II pogroms started" (cf Fiddler on the Roof set in 1905) The British offered Herzl land in Uganda and he said Yes. The medieval Russian Jews wouldn't hear of anywhere but Palestine. The Russians had been living in their own isolated state (the Pale) and had the skills to reproduce that self-sufficient community. "The Zionist project could never have succeeded without the Russian Jews" I'm only half way through it. All quotes are paraphrased. PS :- The proposal (1903 Uganda idea) faced strong opposition particularly from the Russian delegation who stormed out of the meeting (6th Zionist Congress)

Unless your a religious Jew and follow the Torah therefore, base your claims to Israel on that then it would make more sense because god promised that land to Abrahams descendants which Ishmael was apart of by the way. But if you are not religious and believe you have more rights to living there than Palestinians because your ancestors lived there 3000 years ago, wasn’t Abraham from Modern day Iraq are Zionist going to invade that land as well. Whats next then cause lineage goes on where did Abrahams ancestors migrate from and their ancestors ancestors before you know it you will have traveled half the world tracing your lineage. Let’s be realistic both can coexist allow the Palestinians right of return just like the jews then there will be real peace.

@@shainazion4073 Then why was Ishmael circumcised by Abraham if he wasn’t in the covenant? Also Muslims believe Ishmael was in the covenant so now it’s the words of the Quran vs the Torah. Let’s take these arguments to an atheist and see what he thinks. That Zionist claim the rights to the land based on a book which there is another book that says the opposite. Also don’t all scientists say humanity migrated out of Africa does this mean now all non Africans can migrate back and kick Africans out of their homes and lands because their ancestors lived in Africa 10,000 years ago. Do you see how stupid this argument is. Just sit down and contemplate on these ideas before just supporting it. Furthermore, Zionism is against Judaism. I say this because it’s against gods commands in the Torah. Jews are only allowed to return and rule that land once the messiah has arrived. The Jews/Israelites were not given any land but Canaan/Israel. Only Abraham came from Ur. The Israelites developed in Canaan/Israel. All the Holy sites and the History of the Jews/Israelites revolves around the land of Israel. In the Diaspora, everything revolved around Israel; ▪︎The Jewish calendar is based on the growing cycles of Israel. ▪︎The festivals are based on the harvests in Israel. ▪︎ Every day, twice a day, all Jews around the world say the Shema prayer that begins, "Hear O Israel, Our LORD, Our God, God is One." ▪︎Every synagogue around the world faces Jerusalem. ▪︎Every Jewish home has a coin box for Charity, to collect for those in need, usually the Charity is in Israel, young children are encouraged to donate their own money to help others. ▪︎Every Jewish cemetery in the world faces Jerusalem, many people get buried with a vial of soil from Israel, so in death, they will return to the land of their forefathers. ▪︎For over 100 years, Jews around the world, have bought Trees to be planted in Israel. The Ottomans had taken all the trees for timber. There were few natural forests left. For graduations, promotions, birthdays, deaths, new babies, a gift of planting a tree (or trees) was always done. [Today, Israel is the only country that has more trees than when it was founded.] ▪︎Every Year at the Passover holiday, at the Seders, all Jews around the World say, "Next Year in Jerusalem" as part of the ceremony. ▪︎For life cycle events, or for future earnings, Israeli Bonds are bought, to support the country, and in turn the country pays back the money with interest. ▪︎At Chanukah, a game is played with a dreidle, (a spinning top) the dreidle has 4 sides, on each side is a letter, the Letters stand for the phrase, "A Great Miracle Happened There" to signify the Chanukah miracle. Except, in Israel, the dreidles have a different last letter. In Israel, the Last letter changes from a Shin to a Pay. The message is now, "A Great Miracle Happened *Here".* ▪︎At every Jewish wedding, the groom steps on a wineglass, this is to remember, that even in happiness (the wedding), you must remember your land and the Temple. [This is done to remember the destruction of the Temple, and to vow that any children of the marriage will be Jews, and will continue the way of our forefathers.] *There is no people on earth that have a connection with any land, as the Jews have with Israel. From their calendar, their holidays, festivals, prayers, wishes, dreams, everything comes back to Israel.*

Andalusia and Israel are two territories taken back from Muslims. Islam thinks it’s supreme among the world’s religions and Jews are not equal to Muslims under Islamic law. And yet they now have self determination, autonomy and control in their ancient homeland, a homeland once ruled by Muslims. 😂😂😂

@@HumanProgress It's not about rule It's about the natives living in the region. The natives of Palestine, not the mixed lost tribe for thousands of years claiming to come back and uproot the current people and establish a country by killing human life and stealing their land. Your G-d's promised land stands on dead bodies and crimes against humanity. You can rejoice at your hate and the enjoyment that you get by taking "Muslim" lands. But your G-d needs murders and crime to win, what a pathetic G-d

Another myth of Jewish history : Herzl never created Zionism. Herzl never created the wave of a political form of Zionism. In fact, Herzl did not even create the term associated with this political stance known as, Political Zionism And when Herzl envisaged his first conference on all of this, after the secular Jew was won over by Zionism, and this relatively new identiti, Political Zionism and the need for the emergence of a Jewish state, he chose Munich as the location desired for his conference, and, well, the Jews of Munich said in essence, "move along". This was the country of the birthplace of all these modern concepts, yet these German Jews, as a whole, had no desire for Palestine as a location for them to reside in. And the person who did create these terms and defined modern Zionism, and created the word itself, well, he defected from his own movement, and later Herzl became the front man.

man you are so confused! the Jewish leadership did not want the congress to happen in Munich for one simple reason - they were afraid of the antisemites who will dub them as unpatriotic to Germany - especially in wake of the whole Dreyfus affair - no "move along" there

What source do you use? You sound like changing the whole history without any reference. Don't you know jews always have a hope to back to palestien after roman expelled them. History tell us like that. And jews never live safely outside palestine as what bible told me that they are only safe in palestine.

@@antoniussamuelson3748 so a 2,000 year old text written by its own people tells you that Yehud's can only live in already occupied Palestine? Sounds like a loaded statement. Everybody needed a place to live, so just push people of palestine away because a poor jew needs a home, but do not the people then pushed out need a home? see the unfairness here?

@@antoniussamuelson3748 I am not changing anything, it is just that the elders of your people have been lying to you. It does'nt look good to say the creator of Zionism defected from his own movement, so they just pencil in Herzl as doer of all Birnbaum and the early others did.

Jesus wins in the end, and the end is coming soon! Israel’s people are Gods people even though they all don’t in him…yet! Every knee will bow and every tounge will confess that Jesus is Lord! God’s covenant are with the Jews, not Islam. The story of Abraham Isaac and Jacob will teach you that. Ishmael and Hagar were the base of how Islam started along with Muhammad and so on and so forth.

Did he say that the Roman's kicked the Jewish people out of their so-called " land " Where is the anger against them as it's against the Palestinians? How come rage against the German people and European countries that participated in the war on the side of the Nazi's? Looks like Zionazism to me caring out Herzl orders to establish the State of Israel. 😢 Read the Balfour Declaration for the truth about this matter and who the parties involved are. There is no rage against the European people who are complicit in WW2 on the side of Hitler. Why?. Was Hitler and Herzl clandestinely working on the same plan to establish the first Jewish State ?

You’re ignorant and misinformed by Arab Propaganda. Judea existed and Jews lived under that region during the Roman Empire. After the Jewish Revolt, Emperor Hadrian renamed Judea into Palestine, which derived from an old and extinct Canaanite tribe, Philistia or otherwise known as Philistines. And one more reason why they are persecuted by European throughout history is because Jews did not believe in the faith of Jesus. The Jews were painted as scapegoats with superstitions because Europeans saw them as the harbinger of the Black Plague. In fact, the Jews always wash their hands and clean their houses and Europeans back then did not understand the concept of General house cleaning.
