Been invested in Perseus for years and Turaco for about two, absolutely loving it. People forget that West Africa isnt a single country, it's made up of many different jurisdictions with varying degrees of stability and risk. If you want a white-knuckle ride, go for Burkina Faso or Mali. If you want stability and amazing prospectivity, go for Cote D'voire.

Yes - Mining Visuals recently published a chart showing global production 2010-23 by Region - Africa is the largest (and growing share). Yes, there's risks but if it's where the resources are that's where Investors will concentrate.

Some of the stakes held by seniors/majors are not necessarily ‘strategic’ but legacies of prior deals when they divested assets and were paid in scrip of the junior. Barrick in Montage and Endeavour in Turaco fit in this category.

You missed Allied Gold Corp in your list of Africans with undeveloped resources over 1MOz. TSX:AAUC. Kurmuk (Ethiopia) has nearly 2Moz and is has just started production, also assets of several million Oz (10M in reserves at $1500) in Cote d'Ivoire and Mali. Not exactly Junior, but very low profile and sitting at $3.40 CAD. Listed a year ago.

I have done well out of some West African names like Perseus, WAF, Tietto and even WIA but lost on SRR when they lost their exploration permit. Between the Lines Finance did a video a couple of months back on Toubani and not so enthusiastic. Lacks scale and grade is an issue for him. Looks good in Oz terms but not for Africa to account for risk would be my takeaway. Btw, I think your podcasts are a very worthwhile addition to mining media, in fact the best. IMO. Keep on keeping on.

Bidding on Paladin alone by CGN even without the FCU component will still be politically unpalatable to Aus govt even if we don't have laws opposing Chinese ownership of strategic assets

In relation to Winu's future, what's the significance of Rio Tinto's announcement recently to buy out Antipa's remaining 32% of the Citadel project? Given how close Winu is to Citadel, it's quite intriguing. Food for thought.
