Our Guide took us through the city of Thessalonica on the Via Egnatia, initially a Roman Road, that the Apostle Paul would have walked on coming from Philippi to enter the city. We also saw construction areas for the Metro where archeologists had excavated and found past ruins. Our bus took us down the road toward the seaport and the White Tower which is now a museum but was formerly a fort, a garrison, and also a prison. At the seaport are also statues of Philip II, the father of Alexander the Great, and also a statue of Alexander the Great. We visited the Museum of Byzantine Culture in Thessalonica that will be another video on our other KZitem Channel. The focus of our trip was on the Apostle Paul (“In the Footsteps of Paul the Apostle”). This section of Paul’s journey is in the Bible in the Book of Acts, Chapter 17.
