It’s amazing in burgers too. Mix it into the ground beef and give it a light mixing around without completely destroying the meat, then you’ve got yourself one of the best tasting burgers you can make at home. Bonus points if you mix ground bacon into the beef.
@convincedquaker

If it didn't work *on* the meat, why would it work *in* the meat? Hmmm.
@wc.smith99
2 жыл бұрын
@@convincedquaker it worked on the meat here, at least on the compound butter steak, I think it may have just got too diluted for it to make a difference on the steak without the compound butter because ranch seasoning is very mild. Aside from that, I’d say the major difference in putting the seasoning in the meat vs on the meat would be that it gets deeper penetration/incorporation in the meat so it actually makes a noticeable difference.
@RadDadisRad

It works. I like to add a little bit of butter or heavy whipping cream to increase the moisture and fat content of my burger. Bigger batches of burgers get whipping cream, smaller batches only get butter.
@wc.smith99
2 жыл бұрын
@@RadDadisRad I like the sound of that… so how exactly does this work? Is it like softened butter mixed in or chunks of butter throughout? And for the whipping cream, is it just enough to moisten all the meat before or after making patties?
@RadDadisRad
2 жыл бұрын
@@wc.smith99 yes softened butter and then flash freeze to firm up. The heavy cream is just for moisture and the fat content in it is butter. With regular butter you have the moisture from the milk solids.

For those that are not a big fan of the spicy pepper, do this: after getting all the seeds and membrane out of the peppers, buy some brand of pineapple and orange juice from any grocery store. Get a bowl, dump your sliced peppers in and pour the juice over the peppers until covered. Let set in the fridge overnight. The juice will neutralize the heat from the peppers. You will still get the pepper flavor with a fruity taste. I like them either way. Heat or no heat.

My variation of the jalapeno appies is "armadillo eggs." You fill the jalapeno boats with a mix of cream cheese and cheddar, then mold a palm-sized amount of hot Italian sausage meat around them, and then wrap the whole thing in 1-2 slices of bacon. Smoke or oven-bake for 45 minutes, and drizzle them with honey for a glaze. The best tailgate food ever!
