I totally agree with the cutting at every 6 week, totally not necessary, my mom has long hair to her hips all her life and only cuts it 2-3 times max a year, same with me and all the people with long hair that I know.

I’ve always had long hair, I think the longest I’ve gone without cutting it was about 2 years. The biggest thing is knowing when you’ve reached the point that it needs a cut bc the ends are thin, dry, and splitting. 6 months is a good interval to get trims, I’ve found.

You just said all of the things I wish any honest hairdresser would say! I’ve even heard “it doesn’t grow if you don’t cut it”... Thank you for being honest, direct and lovely ❤

I have done so much to my hair, not that I lie to the hairstylist but I just don’t remember all the stuff I’ve done to it. I always ask them to do a test strand just to be sure what I want is achievable without ruining all of my hair.

I'd like to know more about Henna and why it would be bad to bleach a hair that has it :)

I (like so many others) didn't go to the hairdresser during the height of Covid because, well, they were closed due to repeated lockdowns. And then they were booked out for ages... But I'm so proud of myself for not reaching for box-dye even once! I was really close....but I stayed strong. I think that was the better decision for my hair.

I understand people who cut their hair every 6 weeks. If you have a very structured short haircut, you need to maintain it for it to look good, otherwise it starts to look bad. But if you have long hair, you can let it grow for months. I love your haircut. I gave myself face framing cut yesterday, and it was pretty hard to cut with non dominant hand😅😂I look semi decent. I still want to cut my length.

I love your videos but wouldn't know what to ask for etc, I have loads of pins on Pinterest but don't ever know where to go as I don't have it done often xxx

I agree with you 100% that professional hair color is much better. I use Wella Koleston to color my gray roots. In my case, the color covers the gray much better than the box dye. In addition, I only need 15 volumes of developer, so that the hair becomes much less brittle and dull as a result of the coloring. The developer in the box dye has a significantly higher dosage and makes my naturally wavy hair brittle and dull.

That’s what I’ve always thought. How would cutting my ends… grow my hair more… at the roots? Make it make sense 😂

I have fine hair and not that much plus they get thinner on the ends. And I have my fiancé microcut it every three weeks! Otherwise I would have split ends that would eat up my whole hair. So yeah, every hair is different! I had a friend, she had long thick dark hair and it would grow like grass and she had her ends cut every 6 months! There's no way I would get away with her routine! Maybe also a hairdresser can see the different types of hair and knows which treatment they need.

What if your ex hairdresser did a root melt with a permanent color? Will it lift with 20 vol bleach?

@@Rachelmckeown In any case, you are exceptionally pretty. 🙂And the resemblance, especially to Reese Witherspoon's daughter, stands out to me. But everyone perceives this differently.

The point with henna not being able to be combined with hair dye or bleach is outdated if you use pure henna without any additives. There is a full reddit about it that showcases this and also explains where this myth comes from. Henna used to be mixed with other ingredients that created these bad reactions with hair dye or bleach. I have a full set of balayage highlights on my red henna hair and it looks incredible and behaved like normal hair dye. Please let's work together to get rid of this myth and spread this knowledge cause it took me a lot of time finding a hairdresser that doesn't reject my request because of this myth! 🙏🏻

I'm pretty Shure there are bleaches that have a toner on it. Even on the salons. So its not true.

Yeahh like I said in salons there are professional colours that lift and deposit tone (for example L’Oréal Magirel Highlift) but as I explained in the video, even with professional colour I sometimes feel nervous using them as they’re more unpredictable compared to the two step process of lifting and then toning, even more so if it’s a drugstore box dye and the person applying the colour isn’t a professional, don’t be fooled! 💕
