In 2019 I drove from Denmark, where I love to Norway up thru Sweden. 3 weeks before I was back. Drive 5500 km. Trondheim that was my goal as a friend of mine live there is around 1150 km from where I live. So as you an imagine, I didn't ride in a straight line or on freeways. In both Sweden and Norway you can camp and sleep anywhere in nature. All man's right, allemandsretten, is awesome and a law. I slept on a bridge, on the side of the road, inside a forest and in the mountains. Also slept in small cabins on camping spots. I am going a trip like it next year. I haven't been on road trips since '19 due to lack of money. I am 65 by the way and ride a Suzuki Savage from 1997.

I did just finish my first Iron Butt Saddlesore 1,000 though. Another good biker movie is Road to Paloma. Also since you wear 81 gear if you haven't checked out Dead in 5 Heartbeats I recommend that one.

Ive seen the film your talking abour at first it seemed to mimick in sort to Spagetti westerns. You,ll be glad you watched it till the end . IMO us older bikers can and have actually been threw any of same life events and relate to this film. Real road trip isnt over exadgerated or under exadgerated ironaclly . I,m 62 the 62nd commenter born 6-2-62 have been on road trips or should i say the ways we drifted maybe to see the scenario kinda like Ride M...F..... Ride ..Ride all day Ride all Night Ride M.....F...er Ride . Anyways i remember where i seen the film was I was a member of fix my HOG and it was a free download . You younger Bikers this shit isnt real . the ones that listen to older men and there adventures know what this film is about. I find it pretty cool that you as a woman and being of your age watched the whole film and what was thinking ? Watching this mans adventure?

"Then Came Bronson", old movie, raw low budget B type, 2 people adrift, finding meaning on a motorcycle trip. Its interesting they're riding a Sportster that never runs out of gas from California to New Orleans. The big question on a road trip, to camp or not to camp. I go the off the beaten path motel route where you meet all kinds of people and 98% are friendly and have some adventure story to tell. Maybe that's the best part, the stories from some stranger at a gas station.

I rode my Yamaha FZ-07 606 miles last weekend .. I took my lightest sleeping bag and a tent. It was late, I was too tired to put up the tent. The ground was dry. I didn't have much warm clothes with me. I slept under the stars and it got down to 36-F.

I just was not prepared. Places to ride to, Wheels through time Motorcycle Museaum on the way to Tail of the Dragon. I would like to ride the Black Hills but not during the Weeks of Sturgis. I was going to buy and Adventure bike and ride it to Alaska to visit my Uncle, but he died from Prostrate cancer. I have lived in Colorado and Utah for three Winters as a Skibum. Riding in the Rockies on a Motorycle would be great. Pikes Peak .. Wolf Creek Pass. Have you heard all of the CW McCall songs? That area has been on my Radar since listing to his songs as a Teenager and buying his Albums. Plus maybe my biggest bucket list riding Goal is to ride to Silverton or Durango to ride the Narrow Guage RR. CW McCall also wrote a song about that. Lots of videos of the Steam Train in operation. The RR was built to service the Silver mines 100 years ago. The RR was Bankrupt and closed, but Millionaire Citrus Grower from Florida bout the RR and Financed the Restoration of the trains the rails and Lots of Tourists ride the Train every summer now. I don’t attend rallies, and drink and motorbikes don’t mix very well (tried that when I was younger and stupider than I am even now) so bar-hopping isn’t a thing. On the rare occasion I meet other bikers we talk bikes, trips, things that break, bikes, loc-tite, leaky tents and wet sleeping-bags, and bikes. I imagine it’s the same all over. The trips I’ve taken I’ve been the only biker on the road, though I met a couple of guys once in Iowa, on their way back to Ohio from Sturgis, this is twenty years back, when people used to actually RIDE there. Watch some ‘Itchy Boots’ and READ ‘Jupiter’s Travels’. Otherwise just take it a day at a time, and when packing take half as many clothes (but don’t skimp on the rain-gear!) and plan on spending twice as much money (especially if you’re going to be buying drinks for everyone in the bar!). Have fun, don’t crash.

@@MotoDasha On Any Sunday is basically the most famous Off Road Motorcycle Movie of all times. The fact that you are into motorcycles and have never seen Easy Rider simply shows how Young you are. I think I have Easy Rider on DVD.. I also have American Graffiti a very famous movie that was made on a very small budget with George Lucas. The Critic said it would fail. One of the main stars was "Ron Howard" a Child Actor on the Andy Griffith show and as an adult a Movie Director of many famous Movies. I just saw a post this morning that he has passed. Born in 1954 I think.

Amazing Roller Skate Dancers. I found their Wedding Photo on Roller Skates at a Roller Rink I skated at as a kid. This Husband and Wife did not have a Car just after they got married. They had a BMW motorcycle with a Side Car.. They put all three of their little Boys in the Side car for a year or three until they got a car.. That's in Michigan No less. the problem with the big adventure is it can be too big on a bike. I watched a guys video of his trip on a triumph 900 from new york city across northern U.S. to san francisco down to L.A. back across the southern states to florida that up the east coast to NYC. he did it in 30 days. he was 30ish. not only was he wore out I bet that was his last big trip. my advice is keep it easy so you won't regret going. pick and area you want to see and give yourself enough time to enjoy it that way you will always be anxious and can't wait for the next one. too much of a good thing is well you know the rest.
