I have a Breville Barista Max and I wanted to exchange it for a Lelit Kate, now I want Meraki, thanks for the material, greetings from Poland

Hey Poland! 🇵🇱 ☺️ I wouldn't recommend the Kate mainly for the reasons I spoke about in this video: integrated grinders are a bad idea and the way the Kate is built it will heat your beans in the hopper too. Buy the MaraX, Elizabeth or Victoria and a separate grinder like Eureka Mignon Specialita. Or save some money now and take a punt on the Meraki 👌

If it was 2k from an established brand it would be an easy buy. But the deal is too good to be true tbh. We've seen other espresso brands do this and fail to bring a product to market

Great review! It’s hilarious how people rush to trash a new player just to defend of their precious breville machines. They must not like the innovation that a little competition can spark.

Looks great. It might be the right machine for many people. I personally do not want the espresso machine and grinder intergrated in one machine. I change my coffee about three times over the course of the day, which is why only single dose grinders fit with me. I bought one of the first Niche Zeros long before the term single dosing became common. So no, this machine will never be suitable for me. But if you like to run through one bag of beans at a time and if you like the taste of the grinder, this might be a fine machine for you. All that being said: The functions of this machine make it quite interesting, too.

Yeh it's nothing compared to the Zero but certainly a lot better than another appliance with built in grinder. If they had a version with the grinder separate that would be ideal. 🙌

Thanks! 🙌 I use the Decent Espresso machine at home. It's been the best machine for me personally as I like to experiment and explore and learn. It can also mimic any other machine so that's handy! kzitem.info/news/bejne/pY6Jt2iDi39ogpgsi=S60MWS2zq7Sj_iuO

" a company that isn't established" this is the downfall of so many Kickstarted companies. Making a few prototypes is a lot easier than mass production which is also the costliest part. I've spent thousands backing a bunch of projects that either came through with terrible products due to the cost of bringing them to market or failed to bring anything to market to the cost of bringing a new product to market. If they make consistently great machines if they go into production, I would consider buying one after a production model review.

Nah it was probably over extracted if anything. I made the shot quickly to have something to pour the milk on but I hadn't dialled the beans in so it came out a little slow. 👌

Interesting! I wish there was a premium version that wasn't so plasticky. If they come out with a $2,000 USD model that has a better grinder and better overall build quality, I would be very interested. Also, it looks like a pain to clean.

At its full retail price $1800 usd is a hard sell. Buy an appliance or buy better built machines for a similar price.
@Rydecoffeecoach

Oh yeh, but compared to the new Oracle it's way cheaper and better. I don't think it's too much for a direct comparative like that. If you had the budget, a Profitec 600 would be much better but you'd still need a grinder and while I'd still always prefer a Rancilio Silvia over an appliance machine for that price, this has more features than anything else in its class.

I mentioned the Oracle several times as this is the direct competitor to it. You can't compare this machine to the Barista Express because it suits your price argument. For starters, the express is not a dual boiler and has no features at all and actually, is one of the worst appliance machines out there. It's not even worth 699 in my opinion. I would buy the Maraki several times over before I'd touch a barista express.

@@Rydecoffeecoach I see. My bad. Sorry for confusing it with Breville Barista Express (my machine for 5 years) because obviously you are too good for even toucinhg it. Maybe reconsider your clickbait thumb "Breville killer" and change it to "Oracle killer" to avoid BBE owners like me.

Not too good for touching it. I owned one and was incredibly disappointed with it. You might be happy with it and that's great as that's your opinion and mine is mine. I still think it's a Breville killer as I think for the extra $400 it's still a huge upgrade over the BBE. 👌
