Goku Isn’t a bad dad, but he ain’t a good or perfect one either. Just a flawed guy and that’s about it. It’s pretty wild that the bar is so low for anime dads that the guy who died for his son TWICE is considered shit tier And honestly? The guy is so insane and dumb that if he were given a choice to die for his family again, he’s do it in a heartbeat, even in a world without dragon balls or with just very limited ones, goku was always so proactive and simpleminded that his physical life never even really meant that much to him anywhere Like its wild that there were genuinely a hoard of anime AND DB FANS alike that took a mistranslation as fact and genuinely believed goku never kissed his wife when he literally has two kids 💀

@@theradionicrevival8068 i honestly would believe goku never kissed chichi, because of how dumb and ignorant he is. I wouldnt be surprised if he just had sex with chichi and made kids without kissing at all. And just because he would die for his family, it doesnt really equate to him being a good dad. Like imagine your dad left to grab milk and never came back for 30 years, and suddenly comes back to take a bullet for you, he would be a hero, but not a good dad. Probably not the best analogy, but you get my point hopefully.

Best anime dad: Whitebeard The man did everything in his power to make sure that his "sons" could live their best lives, including waging war against the marines when one of them was in danger. He also didn't blame any of them for making rash decisions (except for obviously blackbeard) like when ace jumped ship to look for blackbeard since he understood all their pain and loved them deeply. I mean his life goal was to have a family and be a father, it would be kinda tragic if he wasn't a good one

Slavery in isekai is just a shortcut way to say "this character is forever the MCs unconditional ally" and not needing an entire 10 chapter manga arc to establish it. Of course the other examples of the same trope are "Yandere maid servant" or "familiar with human form". Surprised Garnt's so against the trope though considering how much he likes Fate (but Servants totally aren't Slaves.... right?)

In terms of best anime dad, Bunta from Initial D. The man not only teaches takumi how to drive, but he supports him from the background and just lets his son come to him for advice. He has a hobby that he knows his son will love but doesn't force him into the races. Just lets him guide in. Hell when the trueno engine's exploded bunta is there with the tow truck to help him, doesn't yell at him, and just reassures him that it's not his fault and that it'll all work out in the end. Best anime dad ever.
@EbbFlowe

Came down to the comments to make sure nobody else mentioned Bunta before I did the same lol. Second everything you said. Bunta and Takumi is like the way Goku passing the torch to Gohan should have gone throughout Dragon Ball Z. You KNOW he's a monster on the touge - probably far better than any of the main characters or their rivals - but he steps aside to let the new generation make their mark in history with effortless grace.

@@EbbFlowe A favorite moment of mine is how they establish the power scaling in the series. You got Takumi doing gutter runs, brake drifts, letting the tires slide, all these crazy stunts to be the best. Then they show off powerful bunta is just by him taking a smoke break mid-drift.

I actually got the chance to see a clockwork orange at my local theater not too far from where you guys had your texas trash taste tour. The star of the movie himself Malcolm McDowell was in attendance because it was the 50th anniversary coupled with it being the first time the movie is being shown in 4k (it was a privilege and honor no doubt but I feel like that should have happened in the UK) yeah the stories he had to tell about the production I do not envy. My Q and A question was whether that movie was harder to get through than Caligula but he said Caligula was harder.

the cheese board at french restaurants you should be getting at about the 1:30-2 hour point, because the french dining experience is meant to be a good meeting and experience to enjoy with each course being let to rest a perfect amount of time between, then after the dessert, as connor said, your just drinking so the wine with a cheese board, bread and good friends, sometimes you can be at some places until closing if your enjoying the night. I don't think it's for everyone as some just want to eat and go, but when you go out to eat in france, you really enjoy that night. If a restaurant can keep you entertained until closing, thats a mark of excellence to me
