The truth is that Snow White is already deeply disturbing when you realize that in the original stories the Evil Queen is her birth mother, not stepmother. The whole story is about a woman so narcissistic that she views her own child as competition. My own grandmother was like this, was emotionally and verbally abusive to all the younger women in her life, including her own daughters and granddaughters, all while presenting a charming front to the outside world.

A more disturbing version of the story than “Snow, Glass, Apples”, the mind boggles

I’ve just discovered your channel a couple days ago and I’ve been working my way through your videos ever since. Never been much of a reader, but I feel fully engrossed in every wonderful story you’ve shared. I love your videos (and your beautiful cat)!! Thank you so much for what you do :)

This is bound to be stupid but I think that the countess vehemently doesn't want a child for a particular reason. I dont think its a jealousy reason here more than a fear reason and fear can often turn into hate. I think she is picturing a reason to not have the child that her husband wants. This is a very stupid train of thought by the way. I overthink things too much. It just felt like she was imagining what her husband would do if they did have one because of the way he kept saying that he wants one throughout the first portion.

Well, DID love your kitty but worried about her scorching her whiskers and have been Jackson’s disciple since We Have Always Lived In The Castle which my grandmother handed to me ( first edition , of course ) back in 1965 and have adopted many of Merricat’s sensibilities since.
