Keep it minimal. Just perfect. I love how you show how versatile such a simple kit can be when you know what you do. Thanks for sharing.

Great video! I forgot to mention that my wife LOVES that foot massager from a few vids back. She, no exaggeration, uses it EVERYDAY and makes it a point to tell me about how much she appreciates her early bday gift.

I love your images. You are one of the very few who seem to use an on camera flash. Very tempted to buy one for my next shoot. I would get the mid level Sony ~ 46? ~ I think you recommend. Thanks again for sharing your images and tips.

Incredible results with a simple setup! I used to avoid using direct flash on subjects, but your videos have really opened my eyes to its potential, and I'm beginning to appreciate it!

John, I've been meaning to post this for a while now: I absolutely LOVE your channel! No fluff, no sponsor-supplied freebies, totally honest opinions, superb BTS, and, best of all, no "And don't forget to like and subscribe and smash that bell icon ...). Your advice regarding the Angler FastBoxes was invaluable. Now I'm hooked :-(

I know your'e a big fan of that flash as you've mentioned how much you like it. it certainly does the job in this set of images, great shots!!! I was reluctant to add a flash to my M11P due to the size imbalance. However, I got a great deal on a new SF60 and find it sits quite nicely with the M. Have you tried it at all? My previous experience with on camera flash was mainly Metz 45's and 60's on a bracket attached to my Hasselblads back in the film era. They were great tools for the purpose at the time. Nothing compares to to tech we have now though!!!

I love playing with all the flashes. For the small Leica flashes, the SF24D is a lot of fun but also very useful.

Love your recent videos about your on camera flash units. Just wondering if you could confirm if the Leica SF24D Flash is compatible for the Leica Q2 with TTL Mode? If you could reply back, I would appreciate it buddy. 🤔😁👍

What is the price range for these sessions? I understand you may not want to share concrete values, but would it great to understand how much someone with a studio should charge for this type of work.
@kaskoPhoto
6 ай бұрын
Well I have sessions starting at only $175 - what I call a social media session. It’s usually two outfits and less than 30 minutes long. I use these to fill in gaps in my schedule and to film. But they are only available when I offer them for those times. A full session at the studio starts at $1,500 for a regular session.

beautiful shoots ! Why don't you have burnt faces or deep shadows on walls behind the model ? just using flash compensation on ttl mode ?
@kaskoPhoto
6 ай бұрын
With flash compensation down to -2 to -3 and using the wide diffuser when needed, these two things help a lot. Add to that this old thing doesn’t do bad at all in ttl mode.

On the topic of flash, I was having an issue with my V1 losing connectivity to my xpro 2. Upon looking into the camera, flash and trigger I realized that the "DISTANCE" setting was set to 1-100 meters. I changed it to 0-30 and poof it worked well since I was using it handheld.

I hope you understand the irony of somewhat humorously calling out the price of these hoodies and then making images so good I want to buy the 500 dollar hoodie... you know every video there are just incredible images. Some to my taste, some less so. But the photos in this video whether using the flash as a fill or going full blast, are just unreal good. Out of curiosity how do you find the dynamic range of the Leica compared to the M10 and Zf?
@kaskoPhoto
6 ай бұрын
I’ve only had two test the dynamic range in post processing one or two times because of human error, but it seemed pretty good to me. I try to nail exposure in camera, and for what I shoot most of the time, dynamic range really isn’t that needed Unless I screw up.
@TCMx3

@@kaskoPhoto Ah that makes sense. I'm not doing anything similar to what you do (though I might like to try it some day) and often find myself with sun in the background. I appreciate having the range to be able to meter for the highlights and bring up the shadows on the Nikon, I was curious how the M11 would handle that sort of thing.
