I wanted Tech to come back. I could care less about the "no one ever really dies" trope. This would have actually made an uplifting story, but war is pretty much pain and sorrow and loss, so losing Tech is a serving of that. In reality, the kids probably died first.

While it's sad to see Tech actually being dead, it is also nice from a wider perspective to see the show take the position of death actually means something. In Kenobi, in Ahsoka, fatal wounds were just shrugged off like nothing. Them actually committing to Tech being dead drove home there were stakes at play. At least until we get the next animated series, and we discover he wasn't really dead.

I absolutely agree that Tech would have lived had Crosshair defected at the end of Season 1. Discounting the fact that they might not have even gone on the mission to Tarkin's base, the situation they were in when Tech sacrificed himself was perfect for Crosshair. If he was there, he would have easily taken out all the TK troopers shooting at them and shot down the V-wings better than Hunter did, giving Tech plenty more time to make it back to the railcar for their escape.

I will say the only thing that the Bad Batch was missing were the difficult conversations and confrontations. We never see Crosshair or Phee learn about Tech’s death, Hunter learn that Crosshair let Omega turn herself over and then missed the shot at tracking her, the initial confrontation of Wrecker, Hunter, and Crosshair when he returns with Omega after hunting them for the past two seasons. I wish there was room for these conversation because they’re important for the characters, I would have even gladly lost a couple action sequences to have made room for them.

I would have preferred we got more time for that instead of the tenth treasure hunting session with Phee or the hundredth fetch quest for Cid.

@@LeoCelestial-gq3kk I don’t disagree. In the perfect world, the Bad Batch would have had enough episodes to have those fillers AND more clone rebellion-centric episodes with an average runtime of 3-5 minutes longer to have those important conversations. Make it three 22 episode seasons, so the episode count for the whole show is 66

I was glad that they didn't resurrect Tech. It made his "logical" sacrifice so much more profound. I also love how Hunter essentially forbade Crosshair from taking the same route and Crosshair obeyed the order from the brother that had been his Sargent. It showed him being a good soldier and following orders, for the right reasons. I also love though how they stripped away the colors of their Armour to symbolize the more nuanced aspects of their characters. Crosshair is still fairly black and white. Wrecker is still kinda a softy at heart and Hunter is in between, all of which makes sense to me. ❤ I love this show so much!

I knew this moment hit but I couldn’t put my finger on why until now. But I think you’re totally right. It hit because this was the first time we got to see how he processed his death. And the implication that he held himself at least partially responsible and regrets that he didn’t make it to that final scene makes that scene even more heartbreaking. I think that’s why him being open to plan99 hit as hard as it did. He thought he deserved to die not just because of everything he did with the empire, but because of what happened wiyh Tech too. He died on a mission meant to ultimately rescue Crosshair. But he was wrong about the squad dying with him as the rest of the episode showef.

I don't mind him dying. What bugs me is that they introduced him at all when their only reason for doing so is dangling keys in front of the audience: "We added this guy as a nod to RC fans! Isn't that amazing? However, we are going to do absolutely nothing with him and he is practically speaking only a clone reskin, but now we have made it impossible for other SW media to use him in the future for something actually interesting, because we killed him off!"

@@umbrella4407 Right, and there would have been better ways of acknowledging Delta Squad. I would have been more than happy for one of the clone troopers mentioning that RC-1262 (or I guess IC-1262, as he's an Imperial commando now) is off-world on a mission. Just a nod to him without throwing him away as a character. Would have been nice to have him voiced by Raphael Sbarge like he was in the game, too.

#askEck this might be a long one, but the short of it is, what was baby Yoda doing right before the mandalorian? In the show we see him being held by what seems to be a band of pirates, and he had to have been there for some time and in the care of them for the local warlord to know of his location and so many bounty hunters to have his tracker, so these pirates had to have been attached to him in some way and were protecting him despite the obvious bounty on baby Yoda's head. So these pirates took care of him and protected him before the mandalorian just came and killed them all and kidnapped baby yoda

I get the general impression that they might have been ransoming the child to whoever would pay, likely from whom they stole the offer. It seems strange given how often Gideon seemingly is willing to kill the child to advance his research. If he already had direct procession of it, he would've done it sooner. Then again, I recall him basically killing the guy who failed him, so perhaps that was the only filter between him and his midocholorian project.

This was an incredibly forced scene. This season never showed them having trouble without Tech. If they really wanted this scene, it should have happened right after the gambling episode. It should have ended with Crosshair asking, “Where’s Tech?”
@madelynnbartos5272
25 күн бұрын
The only thing I will say in rebuttal on the points you made (because I felt the same way initially) is that Omega knew Tech had died. So she had no doubt broke the news to Crosshair at some point during their mutual imprisonment. There would have been no logical reason for her to keep that information from him. Tech was their brother. She would have wanted Crosshair to know, and deemed it his right to know about his brother. Also I feel like the three Batchers were under extreme stress in this scene, if it felt forced, that's because they where up against forces that they had never quiet faces before. They had lost a brother. They where down another brother (Echo, whom they had not heard from) and they where attempting essentially a suicide mission, to save their sister. If that's not extreme stress....🤷🏻♀️

@@madelynnbartos5272 I know that Omega told Crosshair off-screen. That’s the part that’s stupid. These writers refuse to allow us to see characters process the death of their friends, and it’s annoying.
