Love Polaroid as a brand but who cares? It’s a huge advantage to take over the category with your brand name even if you’re not making up all the sales. Polaroid needs to do better with their social media because I’m always surprised how stagnant the viewership is when they release something on instagram and KZitem. The content that In An Instant and others have made shoots up to higher highs in popularity and viewership. I’d recommend doing an influencer campaign

This to protect their valuable trademark before the word "Polaroid" becomes generic or common like "Xerox". I think back in the 70's Xerox Corporation ran ads telling people not to use "Xerox" and instead say "photo copy" or just "copy". Kleenex had the same issue because people referred to tissue as Kleenex.

Unfortunately people are going to do it. There's the Popsicle brand of ice pops and actually Target accidentally used the trademark of Pops when they came out with their Favorite Day brand. That was eventually corrected. And when I walk into the hardware store I asked and asked where the Sawzall blades are even though it's technically a Milwaukee product but unfortunately some people at the store on familiar with the term reciprocating saw.

Okay that sounds good, now can you make me the modern Sx70 and while your at it team up with your old buddy who makes one instant pack film so he can make more than one shot per pack of film for those cameras oh and maybe make a film like spectra but new and a new camera for it so it don't jam , I don't personally need the old spectra to work but a bigger frame would be nice.
@WSNO
Жыл бұрын
the idea that spectra cameras jam is actually a misconception. not only that, but they refurbish 600 and sx-70 cameras in-house using modern manufacturing techniques and materials that are designed to fix the age related wear and tear. there's no reason they can't do that with Spectra cameras too.
@dippypepsi1728
Жыл бұрын
@@WSNO that is fair but I've seen videos of guys who had spectra cameras who had them repaired by different people (at the time when Polaroid originals made the spectra film ) and the film still Jammed because the new film is thicker , that is also why they can only get 8 shots in sx70 film, 600 & go film. I would like to see them bring it back and have it work in the old cameras but I don't think they will do it , but they could make a new film bigger than 600 and a new camera.

It would be great if y'all would make amends with Kodak after Polaroid sued the EK6 instant format out of existence in the late 1970s and revive the format. Especially since the entire basis of the lawsuit was Polaroid being nasty about anybody else doing instant photography since it "belonged to them". Kinda makes this video feel rather revisionist and disingenuous otherwise.... Kodak's EK6 cameras are plentiful and robust, every antique store has a shelf of them for $5 each mint in box.
@virgilplays
Жыл бұрын
As much as I'd like go see the ek6 come back, the basis for the lawsuit was theft of intellectual property and patent law infringement. Kodak is and always has been a fucked up company and if polaroid made amends and gave kodak the clear I doubt you'd see a revival of the format or cameras back into production

Wtf? Polaroid is struggling vs Instax as it is, and you're coming out with bluetooth speakers and videos like this?!?! If i was Polaroid, I'd want my brand name even MORE ubiquitous with instant photography.. Does Polaroid not realise they had to come back from the ashes as the impossible project? Polaroid we NEED to start making better film and cameras, and a BETTER SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM. Third party independent youtube channels like In An Instant have done more for Polaroid brand awareness than Polaroid themselves. This isnt the 90's this is the fkn new 20s
