Happy #CelloTipThursday my dolls 💪🏻🎻! Today's post talks about your left hand form while you're in thumb position! These 3 tips will help you to be efficient and comfortable, plus avoid a lot of bad habits & tension.
🌟 Have your thumb gently resting on TWO strings: the primary string that you'll be playing on + the next lowest string next to it.
🌟 Make sure your primary string is hitting the side of your thumb, around the middle and by the knuckle. If you're too close to the tip of your thumb you may catch the fingernail and have a fuzzy, unclear tone.
🌟 Have your left wrist and forearm be on the same, leveled plane. Think of a tabletop where your arm is flat and without any bump / dip from the wrist bending.
