Thanks for the video, 7 months after my Tib-Fib Fracture & my life has become a nightmare so I'm glad there are folks like you that can overcome this devastating injury. 🙏🏻

How do you feel now,can you walk properly?
@nathanhale5455
3 жыл бұрын
Rares Nicoara - no. In fact, my leg doesn't feel aligned correctly. It feels like when I stand up straight that my broke leg points to the right. After about the seven month mark, my leg began to get worse instead of getting better, like it was. Now it feels like a constant vice around my ankle area, where the break occurred. I still can't walk over thirty steps without needing to take the weight off my leg & carrying anything over five lbs. is still a problem. I'm just counting the days until this nightmare ends...it's the only thing I look forward to now.

how are you feeling now? Looks like it's been 18 month since your fracture. Personally I'm at 14 months post break, walking pretty much normal but will limp if I try to walk fast. Weight is not a problem. Have a hard time tiptoeing with that leg.

Hey Mike, thanks for the question...I'm regressing. Keep in mind that the older you are when a traumatic injury occurs, the harder the healing gets & since I was over 58 when it happened, its not good. My rehab was happening slowly but surely until about 4 months ago when I hit a wall (figuratively of course) and my rehab has basically stopped due to pain & stiffness around the multiple breaks! 19 months & I'm still unable to run! Good luck my friend...just because my rehab has been long & unsuccessful doesn't mean yours has to be. 🙏🏻

In the same situation now. Its been 3months right tib fib shattered. A rod was put in through a surgery. Fucking hell. Waiting and waiting. Using a walker now. My leg now looks normal feels ok. But swells when i keep it down for long. No go for weight bearing from my doc yet. Every visit i just hope he says im ready to bear weight on my leg but isnt happening yet. Such a pain. I wish someone knew how long this is gonna go for.

What can I do to stretch my tendence. I can bend my knee but not straighten it to the fullest. But I am still in the process of muscle regaining and it also depends on them. But I walk like a pirate. XD How can I stop that? The surgery is almost 3 months ago. I can walk now for 3 weeks without crutches. Thank you!

How is your recovery going? I am 2 months out of tib/fib and still can't use walker. My foot points down and will not flatten, even with most of my weight. Doctor just says it will take long time

Irkin Bollikans i am similar position as you were when you commented, 2 months into this. How are you doing now? Im frustrated with the patience it takes but relieved i finally feel i am making some progress. Praise God for that. I had one small stand for mankind (lol) with about 80 percent body weight yesterday and today. With a plate an six screws already in foot before the tib fib rod i had to finally realize i cant expect my recovery to go the same as others. But then again no two recover exactly the same anyway. I hope you are doing fine.

Im too late to offer advice for your knee, since i see your post was 4 mos. Ago. Im 2 months into recovery and stretching the knee is excruciating, i do that self torture moments at a time and it does bring about positive results. Its not easy being scared about the future but each time i start to be i just make myself quit that.

@@rhondaeverett8284 After tons of stretching, I have pretty good range of motion back in my ankle. I can now "walk" with assistance of crutches for maybe 2 days, after that I need about 3 days of no weight. I'm sure I'm pushing beyond what I should, but my doctor said the rod would support my body weight. I am very much ready for this to be done. Next appointment on the 6th, so fingers crossed. I wish you a speedy recovery, I know this is an awful experience

Irkin Bollikans i dont get why lots of people are started off with crutches but my surgeon didnt tell me to use crutches, wants me to start with a walker. Hhmm i have a plate an 6 screws in my foot BEFORE the tib fib break an rod so maybe thats his reasoning for choosing walker for me to use when ready OR my age, im older.
