I got kicked out of a bar for not buying any drinks. I tried explaining that I was the designated driver because I don’t drink but they were rude and didn’t want to hear it. The frantic call the next day from the bar about my tab was hilarious. We took a friend out for his birthday and ran a huge tab. After I got kicked out of the bar I reported my card stolen because the bar didn’t want to give me my card. I can only imagine the shock on their face when they realized that my friends got about 2k worth of drinks were on the house. They did me a favor because I wasn’t prepared for that tab lol

Yep, just cancel your card once you leave it at a bar. Back when I drank…bar staff seemed to consider it their duty to add to your tab and give themselves a hefty tip if you left your card by accident. I quickly switched to cash only. Kicking someone out and allowing their tab to continue to run up is absolutely criminal.

The thing about anti-autistic discrimination is you shouldn't need to know if someone is 'on the spectrum' before you decide not to be mean to them. There are many undiagnosed people or people who aren't open about being autistic and they deserve not to be made fun of for being 'weird' just as much as those of us who are openly autistic.

I once dated a guy who angrily vented about his neighbor who he felt was disrespectful because she never made eye contact with him. I had met her and I said, no she's autistic that is ableist. You can't get mad at people for just not making eye contact. (For the record my brother is autistic, I might be autistic I'm seeking diagnoses, actually going in tomorrow. I have been diagnosed with ADHD. I have also worked with autistic students alot. I'm usually right when I think someone is autistic.) He went off about how she's not autistic she's just disrespectful. A week later he yelled at her for it, and she broke down crying, turns out I was right. That relationship lasted maybe a month, it wasn't very good. This guy was also fetishizing my neurodivergency at the same time without me noticing at first.
@Eleanorscatmom

I'm commenting at the beginning so this may get mentioned, but, many crimes happen without diagnosis. Unfortunately people think they need one to seek help. You don't actually have to be disabled to be legally discriminated against as well. Just the assumption. If someone treats someone badly because they assume they're disabled, or gay, or another protected class even if they aren't diagnosed, or happen to be straight etc whatever the situation, the assumption instigating the act is the crime. Them thinking that being the reason for the bad act is all that needs proven. I don't know if that will help anyone, but I had personal experience prior to my diagnosis.
@Unhappytimeaper

I'm autistic and there are many reasons why where I live its not necessarily safe for me to always be open. Especially with strangers at a bar or cafe or just random places in public. I don't need to discuss or let every person I meet in on my life to make them feel more comfortable with my existence and neither does any person. I don't drink, but I would like to be social sometimes if I can-- pretending that mentally ill and ND people need to be locked away or babysat all the time to have any sense of a social life or 3rd location is so harmful as it is but even if the woman in the story [or anyone else] isn't this doesn't change shit. Michelle used to make so much content about people with unhealthy drinking relationships and it really sucks to see her now demonize certain aspects similar for no reason other than pettiness.

I’m autistic and a regular water drinker at a local saloon near my house. No one has an issue with it, but I did run into a woman like Michelle once. It was a Thursday night, and I usually don’t go on Thursdays, and I got some water. I guess this one thur regular had an issue with this, and I could hear her getting louder and louder with talking about how creepy and weird I was for drinking water at the bar. It was only 8pm, and she was slurring, so I ignored her, but she kept getting louder probably hoping to provoke me. Eventually, the bartender finally got sick of her crap, and told her to leave me alone. Some people get so offended when you don’t want to drink alcohol.

Did the poor woman she's trashing online actually do anything to warrant that kind of nastiness?? If she had been rude, or disruptive, or something, then I bet we would have heard all about it. But it sounds like this bartender chick is just upset about not getting a tip. "Water bitch" is such a wildly aggressive way to talk about someone that hasn't done you any harm. I'm betting the customer orders food or hangs out with friends (who do order drinks) or something while she's there, but even if she doesn't, if there's no bar policy about people not buying anything, what's the big deal?

She's the kind of person you should never turn your back on and definitely don't tell her anything that you don't want the whole world to know. In fact, stay as far away as possible from her.

She is lying. She says her husband don’t drink (because he can’t stop) but is alone at a bar. Did he sneak out to go to a bar while she was asleep? If not why is she acting surprised that he came home…was he supposed to sleep someplace else?

If that poor lady has a picture of herself on her phone's lock screen and she's going to a bar a bunch, to me that sounds like she's *SINGLE.* Like, maybe she's not drinking because she wants to be of right mind when meeting someone??? Idk, maybe I'm reading into things too much 🙄

I got my first cell phone that allowed wallpapers when I was about 12 or so. I had no concept of what a phone wallpaper should contain. Unfortunately, I made it a photo of myself. Someone at my school saw it and asked why I had myself as the wallpaper. I responded, “well…. I don’t know.” It was the moment I realized how weird it was.

It’s not weird! Don’t let anyone else tell you it is. Even as an adult I know plenty of people who have selfies as their lock screens for security or other reasons.

I have several friends who have themselves as their lock screen. I do think it's weird and narcissistic. Idk maybe it's just me. I would hate to stare at myself all day.

@@daniellelopez3342I hate staring at myself too, but if someone else has themselves as their lock screen or wallpaper, I think that's cool. I wish I could love myself that much

It's your phone. You can do whatever you want with it. If people cared that much about somebody else's phone lock screens and wallpapers, they need to touch some grass and reevaluate their priorities in life.

Tik tok has made such a weird positive feedback loop for creators to just say the most out of pocket things about complete strangers. And giving ppl literally no privacy and treating actual human beings as npcs.
