You just demistyfied so many things for me. I kept wondering how those leads were made! Thank you! This got me excited to get back into making psy. I had given up since I started with samples and when I got to creating my own leads I failed miserably to make them sound good. The best part is you taught us how to make new ideas instead of just how to do one approach.

Your point about letting the computer suggest stuff, the ideas with the morse code generator is brilliant. As i get more experienced with music production i have learned techniques that allow me to see the computer more as a collaborator. Generative music techniques, algorithmic music etc. Its nothing new , artists have been using these techniques for a long time, they are particularly useful for psytrance though, especially as Max/MSP w is integrated into live.

You are the man! Thanks! I stumbled across this video and I was always curious on how people did these leads and things. I have Virtual Light presets but all I heard is just a random noise, but no arrangement. I will buy Jumpstreet's plugin since I love his work! Thanks

Not sure if you can get it from Rythmizer, but generally speaking, MIDI effects can be saved onto a new clip if you set a second MIDI track with it's input coming from the track you have the MIDI effects on. So... Track A -> Rythmizer, MIDI FX, etc Track B -> MIDI From: Track A Hit record Can be useful if you want to keep the MIDI for more fiddling.

If you add a density m4l device after the rhythmizer you can also introduce the probability of no note occuring, which also really helps.

There is a crazy plugin called stochas which incorporates the concept of probability so sometimes no sound occurs

Not my cup of tea psytrance wise, however its clear to see that these tips are universally useful for forest psy (my cup of tea) or any other style of psytrance or many other styles,

Haha that morse code thing is pretty cool approach. Sure some of the timing was absolute trash as you mentioned but if you just rearrange the starting position and spacing inbetween the notes, i am sure you can get some cool talkative sequences. An approach i like to do if i want to combine different sounds is to create one MIDI pattern with a synth to get the rhythm down. Then split that MIDI pattern into separate channels and design the sounds to that pattern if that makes sense. Anyway nice video!
