I've had Covid three times now and every time I lost my voice completely. My speaking voice has come back (never back to normal) but my singing voice is completely gone. I've been singing all my life with dreams of becoming an opera singer (no matter how late I am) so having this happen to me has me defeated. It's been a year and I still can't sing. I cry constantly and I've gone into such a deep depression because of this. Singing was my life...music was my life, it is how I tell stories through music and how I feel pure emotion without language. I am completely devastated and need help desperately. Thank you for this video, I will do anything to get my voice back.

Since other comments are telling their own stories I'll tell mine: When the pandemic hit I was playing in a cover band which would play about 4 gigs a week. I wasn't at my best as I was getting lazy singing the same covers every week but I was at least singing a lot. Right when the world shut down I got a cold that while it felt mild really changed something in my singing. I noticed my voice was very thin, but I could hit notes really easily. Regardless of the expanded range, it didn't feel right as it wasn't my normal sound. Slowly overtime I noticed my chest voice had lost most of its upper register power and has never returned back to its normal state. While I don't know whether that illness was Covid, it did something for sure. Since then, I have had Covid one more time, which was confirmed that time. This is the first time in my 25 years of singing that I just haven't been able to return to my best level of singing on my own. It is probably time to see a throat specialist. I look forward to trying the tips you have given here on this video. Phenomenal voice by the way, just subscribed.

Thank you for this video. The first time I got covid I lost a bit, but I almost didn’t notice, the second time was in June this year and the few days before Covid I was singing pretty easy songs like it was nothing, during Covid I couldn’t even talk and after every time I tried to sing I would start coughing and it would hurt like hell. Now it’s been months but I can’t get to hit the high notes I used to, not even close and even though I don’t start coughing like before I realize I have 0 control over my voice. It was the only good thing I always had and I often took it for granted. I have never lost my voice in my life and I used to sing without warm ups even when I just woke up in the morning while now I feel like crying every time I try to sing a song that isn’t totally on the lower range. I think I’ll have to learn for the first time and I’m scared but I really hope it will get better for everyone under this video. Hope everyone gets to hear their own voice again just how they remember it❤️

Thanks. I’m doing something similar. Not so much the fun silly beats so I’ll do that, I think it’ll also be good for the nervous system. I had Covid in April, almost no symptoms. No sore throat, no coughing, no fever, just tired and mildly headachey - and sinus. And yet still I have fluid around my heart now, and my voice is weird. Still have range, can create round sound, but I feeeeeel something almost ‘vibratory’ at the bottom of my throat maybe around where my best she is. It’s just making me not trust my voice, like I’ll not hit notes correctly, and that does happen very very occasionally. I feel like it’s more neurological than physical. Don’t know why. Looking at getting to a laryngologist.

Try this Mexican remedy guys: Dry elements (grind them to finest on electric grinder) 3 aniseed stars 1 cinnamon stick Tablespoon peppercorns Tablespoon green cardamom seeds 1 tablespoon dry or fresh mint 1 tablespoon dry or fresh oregano 1 tablespoon curcuma or turmeric Wet elements 1 whole garlic bulb at least 10 lobes (make sure is not Chinese garlic) 1 cup of lime juice squeezed from fresh limes Additional half red onion Half white onion Process: Smash and blend garlic with whole cup of lime in food processor, add dry elements and onions blend throughly Put contents in a glass jar that can be sealed hermetically, (make sure it’s only half full) you can use two or more jars half full) Put glass jar with contents inside a pot with boiling water (water bath) for 4 minutes Once cooled down fill up the rest of the jar with pure honey and mix it up with a tespoon Let it rest over night Take two tablespoons after breakfasts and two tablespoons after dinner (do not take on empty stomach as it can be harsh on the stomach) This remedy will severely boost up your immune system and the antiflamatory and anti bacterial properties of all elements combined will get you back on your feet and back to singing normally in no time.

Dear Chris, Turns out I probably had Omicron recently. I didn't actually watch this video properly when it came out, but kind of ironically, you released it on my 50th birthday, so now that I'm paying attention I'm going to try all of these exercises. In my case I'm finding hydration of my body, and humidification of my environment are way more important than they were previously, and I'm finding that hot drinks are more beneficial than cold ones. Fizzy drinks do not seem to be beneficial at all. This disease seems to have made me more prone to dehydration, even though I had no fever, and the disease itself seems to be over now. Oddly I seem to be needing a bit more throat mucus than normal as well. Apart from that my voice seems to be ok, and I just want people to know that, unpleasant as this disease is, it's definitely not a "throat killer" in many cases. Thank you as always, Chris, you're a guiding light.

Clean your organs (Stomach, kidneys, liver, colon) Colonic cleansings Green juices Avoid red meats and processed foods Practice yoga Drink sea water Alcaline your blood
@will7953
2 жыл бұрын
I can't help but add some points: body pH: have a balanced approach; some alkalizing foods, some acidic foods (food, not junk) like ferments and vinegars, and good, unrefined salt (I recommend Redmond's!) _cleanses:_ if you do these, do take wide berth from anything containing antibiotics; don't overdo them, and consider adding a little (organic) coffee to get palmitic acid and glutathione levels up (helping the liver do it's job). While I agree to have discernment between the quality of meats (processing, source, grain/grass fed) I (as a former vegan) can honestly not recommend cutting out all meats/animal products categorically; in fact, there are not only cultural clues telling us that our ancestors thrived on red, (healthy) fatty meats and organ meats, but there are amazing stories from all around the world of people experiencing the benefits of such nourishing foods. In other words, yes, avoid cheap processed 'red meat', but make sure not to wash the baby out with the bathwater :-) Agree largely on everything else here, but I'd add one more thing with regards to hydration: While plain water can be handy as an immediate lubricant for the voice, plain sink water generally won't actually hydrate you much with minerals, electrolytes nor structural fluids for your body to retain. Eat your water, too. Yes, vegetables are largely water; a good steak is generally up to (50/60% 'water') now, that would be structural water, unlike that in your sink. So instead of downing gallons of plain water and perhaps wondering why you always get acid reflux (personal experience) start eating more water through big salads and tasty meats, and if drinking water that isn't in that 4th, structural phase (there's a whole book on that), at least consider adding something nourishing like some good salt, some apple cider vinegar, tea infusions or even better some ferment like water kefir or kombucha. That will help your body beat any infection, too. Science today tells us we consist of approx. 10 trio. human cells and 100 trio. bacteria; we are like a living, moving rainforest of those things, and a good immune system is not attainable without good bacteria. Eat your cheese, your sauerkraut, kimchi, sourdoughs, kefir/yogurt (not heat treated unless you want dead bacteria) and drink some of those healthier 'soft drinks' mentioned. This is just my own two (or more) cents, and with what I know now, I owe gratitude mostly to the Weston A. Price foundation and health oriented professionals like Tommy John III. What these people do makes a ton of sense to me, but to anyone reading, you do you!

Is Covid just like strep or another infection- I’ve never had Covid until now and I have shows coming up. The doctor says I don’t have to cancel as it’ll be out of my isolation time but I’m worried about damaging myself?

I first came down with Covid-19 a month ago and I sound like I’ve just had laryngitis. If I try to sing anything above my speaking voice I stop producing any sound at all. And I’m still losing my voice from normal talking. Not cool Covid-19!

Chris please answer me I watched you for soooo long I'm stupid stupid never got a coach. I bene learning distortion since 14 I'm 23 now. I am having issues with my voice. When singing higher. My voice sounds like a gravelly glitch on random notes. I can't help it. It feels and sounds like mucus causing it, but it's been months. I've taken breaks and all. I've been working on warming up properly but its all my fault I didn't listen. I am wondering if I am permanent messed up. Or if it is because I'm singing too high too hard

There is no way to tell if you messed up something. You should see a doctor if you think something is not right.

@@chrisliepe much appreciated, and yeah, I got it early so they knew nothing about it, they thought I'd had a stroke, then a rare retinal syndrome, and then the Covid studies started coming and it was clear why. It's a pretty special virus, didn't take all my vision, but a good chunk of it. Better than those who died or have had their lungs wrecked. I had Covid in December - mild just fever for a few days - and my singing is just not the same. I run out of air so fast (within a single phrase) and this is true for speaking and singing. And my vocal chords get so tired after singing for extremely short amounts of time - it’s honestly heartbreaking
