First off; brilliant video! I started raising quail about 2 months ago. Bought 5 females 1 male, female died to a rat attack. I now have three 30 day quail and 1 10 day quail, and after hearing 6:30 I must say a 10 day quail dustbathing for the first time is much cuter :D

I genuinely did not know about the egg patterns even though I've done a fair bit of research into quail. That is so interesting!! I'm hoping to get quail soon, I've been wanting them for about 2 years now. They would be great in my urban setting, I'd just need to probably setup small electric wires around the hutch to protect them from stray cats and raccoons.

You can not get only 2 quail. They will do poorly or expire. You have to get at least 4-5. They encourage each other and learn from each other. If you are planning on hatching them u have to teach them to peck and eat. They r very finicky especially in small numbers. Quail do best in large numbers.
