Patch may have hated the movie...but he liked Robin...so that goes to show that he respects a man who was funny like him.

My favorite memory of Robin is the one time I met him in person. It was the early 80's and he came into the store where I was working in Northern CA. I wish I could have gotten to know him better. He seemed like a very nice man, brilliant blue eyes (although I notice they are brown in some movies -- must be contacts). He wanted something we didn't carry, so I let him look around the store a little and then he bought a magazine. Back in those days you had to actually call the bank's phone number listed on the credit card and talk to someone to make sure the card was good. I felt like I was insulting him to even do this, but had to do it. While waiting for approval and finishing up the paperwork, for some reason he just started making funny noises, voices and telling jokes. What compelled him to do this? I'm an introvert and would not like being recognized or asked to do tricks when I wasn't working. So of course my coworkers gathered around, all total it was probably only about 6 or 7 of us there including Robin. I wish I had told him he was good enough without performing. About 2 weeks later I heard that he had returned on a day I wasn't working. Not sure why since we didn't have what he wanted the first time. And I think he's the only celebrity I ever met. Apparently he told my coworkers that he had decided to Build the thing he was looking for the first time. On my wedding night I watched a Robin movie, and many years later, found out he died on my anniversary. I am still finding out about movies he was in that I never heard of.

I went to one of your lectures in Hamburg, Germany, after I had seen the movie "Patch Adams" with my beloved Robin Williams in the cinema. I still remember the big movie posters that were put up all over Hamburg. Then I also bought your book... I read in an article that you came to the shoot once and you and Robin got on really well and joked around. You told Robin and he insisted on reshooting those scenes as you described them. The director was annoyed about it, but he had to change the scenes or he would have lost Robin. I miss Robin so much, and it still hurts like hell to imagine how desperate he must have been about this disease to take his own life in such a cruel way. It's horrible 😪 Nevertheless, I believe that he is doing well in heaven now. We all loved him, and God loves him more than we humans ever could 🌿❤🕊🌹✨

Hi Patch, Not sure you get to see this but here’s hoping. Have meant to write to you for a long time now to say thankful for saving my life. I know it sounds nuts as you and Robin have never met me but I was in a really dark place planning on ending it all when I watched Patch Adams. I giggled my head off, cried tears of sorrow but most of all Patch and his story resonated with me. So instead of being terrified of what the future would hold with having Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) and ending it I decided to instead to fight to try and be part of the change that people with HS needed. That’s when I decided to get the qualifications I needed to do a biology so I could understand HS more scientifically and help raise awareness and education of HS. I loved doing my biology degree. I was learning and understanding my HS more. During that time I became public about having HS and sharing what I could to try to help others in any way I could. I created a Facebook page HS Action Together and just tried to help share stuff that could help others and raise awareness. I became a HISTORIC patient research partner and try to help with research that could hopefully help. My journey led me to undertake a part time science communication and future media masters. I loved it as they let me do all my assignments about HS and I was given the opportunity to do the #MillionsHidingHS exhibit at the 2018 Manchester Science Festival. I loved that I was able to put into practice what I was learning and give people from my community a voice using their own stories, art and poetry. I completed my first and second year of my masters. I only had my final year project to do which was a HS social media campaign but it wasn’t meant to be. It is a long story but I implore you to check out Michaela Parnell Figshare. The HS Millions Hiding exhibit content is on there and some other information about what I was trying to do. I really wish I could just sit and chat with you Patch. There is so much I would love to chat with you about.

Dear Dr. Adams … I am a physicians son who at age 69 has re-entered school on line to complete my masters in Bible studies and my PhD in Christian counseling with an emphasis in Christian life coaching. As a film school graduate with a communications major undergraduate degree, I was in awe of your film biography starting Robin Williams in the title role. In my humble opinion, his monologue in front of the university tribunal tied the movie Norma Rae and Sally Fields’ performance as the two greatest pieces of cinematic work in the history of movies. I am a fan of who you are, what you stand for, and what you are trying to achieve. I discovered your channel today, I subscribed, and I’ll be spending the next year or so catching up. Until then, I hope this comment finds you content, in good health, and better spirits!!! Until either your reply or your next video and beyond, happy trails, best wishes, take care, be safe, God’s peace, and God bless. Chuck Knight from Atascocita, Texas. ✝️🎣👨🌾🦌🙏😵💫😛

Idk why but I’m just finding your KZitem page. You, and Robin Williams, have been life long idols. Just hearing your words on him make me want to cry. I’m so grateful to you as a person, through all my trials in my life it’s been you and Robin, two men I’ve never met, that have helped me the most. Only my father has more influence on the softer gentler side of my person. I’d be overtaken with joy and without words if I ever had a chance to speak to you. Thank you, just for being. Some people name Alexander, or Napoleon as the likes of greatest men to ever live; however in my heart, it’s you and Robin that stand above.

It may have helped promote your hard work more than ever before. I mean probably a lot of people haven't heard of you until they saw this movie and I was one of them. RIP Robin williams! Wish maybe robin had been a bit more of an “Asker” just enough to have been able to maybe stay around a tad longer; selfish though i guess or who knows if he’d have wanted to?
