Vacuum breaker leaking on toilet? This is usually mistaken for a leaking tailpiece or flush elbow. But when closely looked at, you’ll actually see the water spitting out of the defective rubber vacuum breaker. A common problem on Sloan, Gem & Coyne Delaney flush-o-meters.
It’s located inside of the factory-supplied chrome tailpiece and unless it has a sizable hole in it, it’s tricky to diagnose. If your seeing water on the floor just beneath the flush-o-meter, pay close attention to the rubber vacuum breaker located inside the tailpiece.
Most flush-o-meter manufacturers have a slightly different piping configuration, but most use a rubber vacuum breaker that is available universally from most plumbing supply houses and big box stores. Vacuum breaker leaking on toilet? Fear not, this is a pretty simple fix!
Happy Plumbing!
