The famous question on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert..... If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be? For me, it is this magical recording.

if there is a better Jazz trumpeter anywhere today, I've yet to hear him. Bravo, Tom!

I feel like those musicians in the background. Looking on and listening with love and respect. We are in the presence of a marvelous man and music.

Q1 The song they're playing is "That Ole Devil Called Love" written by Alan Roberts and Doris Fisher and made popular by Billie Holiday. Several instrumentalists like Art Farmer, Zoot Sims and Tommy Flanagan have recorded it. And of course a number of female vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald have made their versions of it. I don't have the answer for a Q2.

Q1a&b: Name of song; and what album does a rendition of the song exist on? Q2: I wonder whether there could ever be a collaboration between Tom Harrell and Donald Fagan of Steely Dan fame?
