Loved this! Beautifully edited as ever, and I am grateful for how you manage to convey how it feels to read the book without spoiling it 🙏

ok, it doesn't have to be sad sandwich reviews, but I would be into a "Nate eats random [perhaps questionable] things + reviews a book" series

I deleted my comment cause Kat corrected me! But what do you recommend as a good place to start with Patchett? I don't think the book on family is my cup of tea, but I am so curious about her. Have also heard Brandon Taylor speak so highly of her and her craft

oooo then i got the perfect rec for you! start with Lucy Grealy's Autobiography of a Face, which is a heartbreaking memoir, but also she bashes on Patchett. then read Patchett's Truth and Beauty, where she bashes on Grealy. it's the greatest piece of literary beef since Hemmingway's A Moveable Feast where he paints Fitzgerald as a pansy lol

@@bibliosophie I love to begin with the literary beef !!! Truth and Beauty also examines female friendship, and for the two of them, it was quite a ride.
