@@clearasil11 Ah.. I´m not sure where to find that. I learnt his left hand by looking and copying the shapes and his right hand by listening. What I can tell you is that he plays in a slightly different tuning. His low E is tuned down 1 full step to a D and his A string is tuned down a full step to a G. So basically the tuning is: D G D G B E

@@kikik9453 I've been to 5 Tommy Camps. I know Tommy. He's smart enough to turn the camera 90 degrees - trust me. That doesn't take any technical prowess at all! Tommy, shooting in landscape mode makes it easier for your viewers to see both left and right hands on the guitar.

Man, his tone is amazing. Does anyone know what those guitars' tonewoods are? Because it looks like cedar tops over maple back and sides to me, but I could be wrong....
@joecage7394
4 жыл бұрын
Just looked it up, and I was only partly right. The tops are sitka, which is used on about 90 percent on all acoustic guitars. The color seemed darker than that, so I guessed cedar. The back and sides are maple, though. Sounds fantastic. Usually I find maple to be shrill and hard to listen to, but his sound is balanced. Of course, the amplification probably has a lot to do with it, but sounding good is sounding good.

many of his songs aren't actually that hard! you'd be suprised if u just got a good video to show the shapes! His hands tend to hide shapes well because of how he plays chords sometimes. Even using 1 finger to fret 2 strings sometimes.

@@vyvynylification hi Arno. Thanks for your reply. The problem i have is that as an old guy (59 !!) Ive been playing since i was 15 and never used a thumb pick. Im very much conditioned to play with a plec and copy Angus Young 😂😂. I was being slightly "tongue in cheek" when i made my comment...but without doubt Tommy is one of the greatest players ive seen , and ive seen a few over the years!!. By the way had a quick look at your channel....good stuff 👍👍...its a shame we arent neighbours, that would be an interesting jam session!!😂😂...
