When drilling through the joists how did you know there wasnt any wire on the other side?

Because there was originally one light fixture in the center of the room and you can open up the lath to see the other side if you need to

They good enough for me 🤣 a huge improvement from the one lighting fixture that they replaced and they are dimmable. Thank you for your comment

Junk in which way? They are now the predominant light used all across USA. I’ve installed thousands in both older and new build homes. I assume you are in your late 60’s or early 70’s.

Good video... Had bought a diamond tip hole bit thinking it would make a cleaner cut but now will get the Mulwaukee dozer since it cuts the lathe and plaster in one shot. Thnx again.

Hey quick question for you. Can you cut through the plaster ceiling with the oscillating saw? I tried earlier today to cut an exploratory hole and was not able to with the basic blade. Is that what you use the grout removal bit for? I think mine has metal in the back. Thanks
@bamnjphoto

The grout cutting head will cut through the plaster then a regular cutting head to cut through the lathe. Using a regular cutting head to cut through plaster and lathe will dull the blades quick. It's like cutting through concrete

@@mohammadabid1222 I used metal lathe to replace the wood lathe I removed, patched the holes with plaster, sanded the area after it dried and used spackle joint compound to finish, sanded after drying and paint. I have a video showing the metal lathe before plastering
