I know you gave it a mention, but all I could hear was Joey's voice crying, "Shaaaaaaane!" Great genre, thanks for focusing on it!

I really appreciate your humility. You’re a guy who likes westerns and wants to talk about that. Thank you. I have not heard of some of these and will have to check them out.

So many great westerns from the 50's that it is tough to judge. I am glad to see the little known 'The Tall T' made your list. Burt Kennedy who wrote the screenplay for 'The Tall T' even borrowed from it when he directed 'Return of the Seven', the sequel to 'Magnificent Seven', in 1966. Henry Silva's lines about breaking horses in Sonora in 'The Tall T' are the same as Warren Oates lines from 'Return of the Seven' when he also talks about breaking horses in Sonora.

Pretty fine list, especially The Last Hunt, which is kind of an obscure one. I would have included Hondo, because John Wayne is great in it and you get an unusual perspective.

Cooper was ill during the filming of High Noon, and in considerable pain! which is why his character, was portrayed a lot darker, most agree it made the movie better

Always thought High Noon had a gaping plot hole. The townsfolk chastise Cain for not leaving, idea being the outlaws beef was more with him than them. Looks a little bit like he's hiding behind the town, rather than protecting it. I mean, it,s a reasonable interpretation of the predicament.

I’m not sure if this is where you listed them, but yesterday I saw a lot of 50s westerns that weren’t very good. I don’t know why you missed a 1951 movie but you’ll have to feature it somewhere. The movie is Little Bighorn with John Ireland and Lloyd Bridges.

Please to do a program on Borden Chase. He’s the guy that wrote the screenplay I think for one of the Anthony man westerns with Jimmy Stewart. I can’t remember which one he wrote but there a similar lines between this movie and the Howard Hawks movie I’m about to mention. Chase is also the guy who wrote the book the Chisholm Trail, which was made into a movie by Howard Hawks called red river.

The Last Hunt. Is that the one where Robert Taylor's character freezes to death at the end? IMO the absolute best Western of the 50s is Death of a Gunfighter.
