My first scuba dive was on Oahu. I'll never forget it. The fish were as beautiful as any I've ever seen and they swam right up to my nose. That doesn't happen on the mainland. Not in my experience.

I myself verry much wonder what Hawaii must be like, beyond the tourism parts. Tho knowing Bonair from personal experience, I can only imagine hawaii'd climate to be a lot less dry, Bonair is cactus over palms.

OMG you did it!!!! You've explored this hidden gem of an island. When I was there, I was so amazed by what I was seeing that I didn't include a lot of video or pictures. You did such an amazing job in captioning background and information on this place. For some reason, I can't get this place out of my mind. ???? Now I have your video to look back on. Yes, I will donate to this private paradise. And, Klein Bonaire...... The Night diving.... Won't you agree that this place is just mystical???

It's been many moons since I've been to Bonaire, but among my memories are Pink Beach and the slave huts that are at the southern end of the island. And then there is the sun and heat, Bonaire lying close to the Equator. Hydration is essential, and if one goes to the park there it is important to have a good car and extra water.

I know someone who moved to Bonaire a few years ago. He’s told me I need to come visit, but I’m not into diving or caving. It sure looks beautiful, though. Unfortunately, health issues have made it so I need to stay close to major hospitals, and I doubt this tiny island has a major hospital...

Will be here in a few weeks, would love to see the hole-in-the-ground cave but do you have any better descriptors of how to find it?! Maybe somewhere on a map? you mentioned north part of the island but just wondering if you have any further guidance - thank you!

If you do go to the bay with the yellow building on the national park, you can actually find a sunken ship there when you go snorkling or diving. Bonair has a bit of a tradition with sinking ships from oversea drug trafficers rather then just reclaiming them. Wich further adds to the adventures down bellow.

Hello Julie, I saw your comment about the salt fields and have the same question, is it possible to visit the salt fields and if so, how? Have you already been there and been able to see it?
@janjanssen9629
2 жыл бұрын
Just be aware there are hardly any sand beaches, most (95%) are with beautiful white but extremely hard coral. If you want to enter the island and go into the water (like scuba diving) the total fees are $ 120,- (for whole the duration of your holiday - snorkeling is $ 20,- cheaper). A simple dinner or lunch can set you back around $ 25,- to $30,- pp. If you have no transportation… you will not be able to see much of the island. For diving and kiting, it is a perfect island… and sunbathing at a resort as well… but for the rest… not so much to do…
@marjenkame

Noo, you did not mention windsurfing! Lac bay at the south east side of the island is one of the best places in the world to learn windsurfing. Definitely should have be a honorary #8 on the list 😉
