That is a good thing that is automatically done by Input.get_vector, it makes sure that the character moves at the same speed when going diagonally

Why input is in _process? There is no reason to checking often than in 60 frames per second in _physics_process. And moving is connected to physics engine so... If you are putting code using physics, put to _physics_process. If not, put to _process. But yeah, if game will be has a drop frames, character will slower. Maybe I must change this in my project. I am too a new and I started in tuesday, but I lost time a 3 days for my extension to doing 2D RPG game. Easly doing NPC with dialogues, day routine, ai and connected to future inventory system. I planned only a dialogues, but I'm struggling with a GraphNode. I must make my own class extends a GraphNode

No. Better put input for moving in _physics_process, because on 120 fps movemenet will be too high if somebody else plays in 60 fps. Somebody can plays with v-sync off and will be have a over 1000 fps...
