I liked the content and presentation in the video. I wanted to mention something important about Grass-fed food. Grass-fed is the best option when it is also Grass-finished. If a food product is only grass-fed, the producer of the food product that is doing the feeding can in the last stages of feeding the animal, feed it anything they want to give it more weight and save money by using inferior feed products before it becomes a product for public consumption which is why if the package says Grass-finished you know it is a superior product. Even if the product is organic, it will still be better if it is Grass-fed and Grass-finished.

I LOVE this video! Thank you! I also love that you added freezer meals nearer the end! I 'saved' this video to come back to in order to be able to make some of the 'dump and go' meals! You always suggest grass-fed/grass-finished beef. I agree, BUT....I've NEVER been MORE FRUSTRATED trying to cook these STEAKS!!! We did buy a 1/2 cow. The fat on the outside of whatever cut it causes the meat to curl up on me no matter HOW I cook it! The fat ring on the outside of the steaks, I'll call it that, does not stretch like grocery store fats DO. I'll confess/admit when craving steak, I do go and buy grocery store steak so I can avoid ruining my really good ones at least until I learn the right way to cook these and am successful at it! I've watched numerous videos for the 'how-to' of cooking these steaks, and I've not touched them keeping them frozen because I am still not having good success! I do marinate my steaks often using balsamic vinegar and salt, especially. Any other suggestions I come across for cooking these highly nutritious steaks? I don't want to ruin any more of them until I learn more or get suggestions from people who ARE successful at cooking these steaks. I do not have access to a BBQ grill, and I really prefer to just use my cast iron skillet to cook them. I do have a hamburger press (yes, even ground beef burgers do tend to puff up so I need the cast iron hamburger press to TRY to squash them down a bit.) I try to use it on the steak OR I'll also cut the ring of fat with a pair of scissors to release the rest of the steak and allow it to flatten a little more. I just CANNOT seem to master the art of cooking these steaks, and I FAIL! Do you have any suggestions or ideas for HELP? Please? OR a video where you address this issue? Thank you DEARLY!!!!! I very much enjoy your channel! I just realized I'm 'not' subscribed! OH MY! I'll fix that NOW! Wow! Surprising for me! I do watch ALL your videos and love them!

I teach food safety at a local community college so I would encourage you to organize your frozen foods in a safer manner. Put your fruits and vegetables at the top, cooked products next followed by meats and poultry on the bottom. This would avoid any contamination to foods that you would not cook like smoothies. :)

Honest question. Not trying to be sarcastic or stupid. But if its frozen how would it contaminate foods or become contaminated? I understand if the power was out or if it stopped working and the foods thawed. But in that situation it would all go bad and be thrown out anyway so why does it matter?
@vbella39
3 жыл бұрын
@@alishajennings2013 it matters because foods defrost at different temps because of size or freezer may defrost from top down. Depending on that some things may be salvageable and you would not want those items to be dripped on by meat. So it actually makes a lot of sense. I also learned the ins and outs of food borne contamination to manage a restaurant.

I noticed in your video "Top ten Keto Foods to Keep in your Freezer" that you have your Bone Broth in glass ball mason jars in your freezer. Do the Ball glass jars hold up well in your freezer? I make Bone Broth from whole chickens; as I make our dog food from organic whole chickens + vegetable, but I have thrown out Bone Broth as I did not know I could but broth in glass Ball jars and freeze it. I do want to keep it and eat (drink it ) between meals as you suggest in some of your videos. Would your Bone Broth recipe with turkey work as well with chicken?
