I love your videos and old Joe is a great addition to the channel. You Chris are the real deal, a true mechanic/technician. No shiny new tools set up for show in $50,000 shiny new box, just a real working man with a lot of knowledge and well worked tools showing us how it's done for real. Thank you sir. Just keep on keeping on brother.

I swear by ACF50 anti corrosion fluid for keeping the rust off my tools. It works on chrome and bare steel and hasn't dissolved the handles of my screwdrivers and pliers...yet. It's quite like that brownish thick oil that Snap on dip their sockets in and works wonders on phosphate/ chemically blacked finishes...it even smells quite nice. Available from Amazon.

Hi Chris.....yes i spray my tools with WD40 and then wipe of the excess the same as you, i had a lot of spanners, sockets, and ratchets that were often used outside in adverse conditions. For micrometers etc i use a light oil like 3 in 1 which i leave on.....really enjoy watching your videos, i appreciate all the hard work and effort that you put into your video productions Chris, best regards, Stefano.

I use double TT , WD40 ,ACF50 for tools , basically whatever is about, also worth sticking your ratchet spanners in a jar of penetrating oil every now and then to lube them inside.

you've had better usage out of your ratchet spanners by doing that?

I worked for a Superbike team for a few seasons after leaving school, when they shipped a bike abroad they'd douse everything in can after can of WD before putting it into a crate and sending it. Smart arses seem to hate wd40 but if it's good enough for protecting 60 grand race bikes for a month on the slowboat to macau it's good enough for me

Smart arses hate it because they don't actually know what it is for. It would be perfect for the job you described. Water Displacement for a few weeks on a ship..

Will start with where did you get the crimping set ,?? i like how it shows the terminals for the jaws ,and the jaws are slide fit ,where is mine are screw in and i then have to experiment to find out which jaws suit which pin ,,,Liked the Landy bit .in the army many moons ago ,land rover got upset because we chopped the metal out between the 2 seats rather than take the seat base out to do a clutch then rivet it in ,but in certain situations we didn't have time to follow the book lol.And we would fit batteries between the seats in certain applications ..When you said about access to the resovouir ,doesn't the bonnet just fold back to the windscreen anymore ?. In a LHD the clutch master cylinder is under the wing ,Luckily on military spec there was a bolt on the wing up at the bulkhead so we took that out cut a slot in the wing say 6 inches down folded it back to access it ,then rivet a plate over the cut lol otherwise it was a wing off job...100% look after your tools we spend a lot of money on them out our wages to then earn the company money ..Could you imagine getting a job in a supermarket and being expected to supply your own till lol..I also do not allow anyone to help themselves to my tools ,where as others do not mind people just helping themselves ..Luckily my tools are well lubricate ,last few jobs camshaft times 3 ..Dusted engine ,dropped liner on euro5 so that is on hold can't see that being done ,and now on to a blown head gasket on a LF ,,The lad on freight line is it channel the Ryder lad .he is good and knows his stuff.Sadly ryder are pulling out of the uk .rumour is asset alliance are taking them over

Nothing wrong with good working practices mate! packing your kit away before starting the next job is a good thing saves you money in the long run i do the exact same thing with being in a service van 24/7 I can't really afford to be leaving sockets and spanners behind on job sites. Wet tools dirty tools get wiped and good blast of WD40 after all look after your tools and they'll look after you.
