For a better feel, I recommend isolating the seat from the chassis with anti-vibration rubber. This reduces the spread of vibrations throughout the chassis. Like you, I have two bass shakers (same model) screwed under my seat. I've tested both solutions and the feel is much better !

I explored this actually with multiple solutions but I wasn't prepared to introduce any flex (albeit small) into the construct and my priority was to have seat as solid as possible (I run my load cell high). With the 4 mounted the feeling is excellent. I'm glad you're happy with you're set up👍🏻

Great video, very informative. Would it be feasible though to use heavy duty velcro instead of drilling holes? I've just ordered 2 x BST-1s and a smaller Dayton transducer, idea is to put the bigger one underneath the seat and test whether the pedal tray works better with the same one or the smaller variant, also purchased the aforementioned velcro which supports weights up to 7KG and reviews suggest it's very good at doing it;s job.
@TraumaTeamRacing
5 ай бұрын
Thank you very much mate! Glad you got something out of it! I personally would not use velcro. The only reason you would do that is because you don't want to drill into your seat. You will have little air gaps with the velcro and a loss of direct contact and some insulation I would have thought. Drill them, trust me, it's great.
@Wilayaat

@@TraumaTeamRacingThanks for the response and understood. What I might do then is try the velcro first (as already have some at home anyway) and if it doesn't feel right or work well bite the bullet and get the drill out 🙂

You are very welcome! I had 4 mounted beneath my seat at one point! See here for my standard seat set up 👉🏻 kzitem.info/news/bejne/paB_2GeFcKiSoKQ You won't get side to side separation but what you want is the distinction between different effects. You can only really program 1 or 2 effects per shaker before things get muddy and confused. So the more shakers you have mounted, the more effects you can run without things getting lost in the mix. Hope that helps and let me know how you get on 👍🏻

Has anyone tried instead to put M4 threaded rivets? Would seem like a more long-term (threads won't wear out) and more professional-looking solution (less bulge inside and if removed the holes won't look that random).
@TraumaTeamRacing
4 ай бұрын
I don't think this is worth the hassle personally. There would be no significant gain. The wear rate of carbon steel is excellent and the materials are not being continuously cycled so there should be no abrasive wear on the thread. The nut is also nylon threaded which obliterates micromotion and subsequent potential abrasive wear. The nuts are also not palpable when sitting down as they are M4 rounded heads.

Currently I run with two bst-1’s and have reduced the number of inputs so as to make the make effects clearer. @@TraumaTeamRacing There are different types of Loctite, Red 277 is used on exhaust header studs to keep them from backing out from excessive vibration and expansion and contraction.. No way a sim rig is backing them out unless it wasn't applied properly. I use grade 8 steel hardware for my rig too. Cheap chinese hardware stretches too easily. I find it only gets muddy if you are throwing too many effects at a single shaker. Hence, the multiple shakers. Slightly differing frequencies also help with the differentiation I find. 5 months and no issues so far. Very much still loving them.
