I’m on citalopram. Like you, if I forget 2 days, the 3rd day reminds me. Lol. I have now started tapering off very slowly. The plan is to come off over 6 - 8 months or so. Dropping by as small an amount as possible for like a month at a time. I’m down from 30 mg to 22.5 mg and feeling great. If you get impatient and come off too quickly you will have very unpleasant withdrawal symptoms, and you might even mistake those symptoms as a spike in your anxiety or depression. And of course you should have a doctor follow you as you come off.

I went off of antidepressants after 20+ yrs and the withdrawals were awful. FOLLOW closely what Dr. Berg suggests in his videos. All this time taking those Rx's, I believe has done more harm to my internal organs. Like my adrenals for anxiety, irritability, crying is really my organs. Then with taking the Rx for SO long it's affected my liver and I'm sure my microbiome!!! It's been one year off the Rx and two years fasting 🎉 It's going to take time for my body to heal. So blessed to be able to learn from Dr. Eric Berg's videos.🎉❤

I came off of an antipsychotic given for sleep. It was pure hell. I didn't taper and my dose was fairly high as I was given it repeatedly. For sleep and again for pain. Doing well now but sleep is hard to come by and I have sleep narcolepsy. The thing about Drs is you're going to have side effects coming off of these meds and they only want to prescribe you more psychiatric medications. I realize Drs don't really know how to get a person off of these medications. It's just when you're struggling. To be better and feel more alive again, that there is no real help. I'm so grateful to my family, particularly a son, for noticing how badly this drug affected me. How dumbed down I was and my brain felt like it became unglued and free again after getting off this medication. The sense of fear I felt when my primary care suggested I needed to see a psychiatrist! I was so scared while trying so hard. I'm a kind and caring person. I do struggle with anxiety but I think that's natural. Anxiety is what always kept me organized and keeping the house clean ect... These medications cause what they treat. I've always been slender and gained 123 lbs on this medication. I've never in my life hallucinate on any normal day but I did twice while taking this one. Then again it was given to me via I.V. and it caused horrible terrifying hallucinations. My issue is that these drugs are what is being prescribed for almost everything these days in hospitals, emergency rooms and now even by primary care Drs. If I need help with any mental issues I would go to a psychotherapist never a psychiatrist. I've studied this info over many years and I dread this outcome. I've spoken to many people so vastly harmed by these drugs. Years of their lives lost and left with such disabling conditions. I'm glad you touched on the use of these medications. I hope you will do more as far as how these drugs effect the mind, soul and body. God bless anyone dealing with such issues. I pray for you the very best.

Look for an acupuncturist, herbalist, Chinese medicine doctor or Naturopathic Doctor...they have a holistic, functional medicine mentality, no pun intended, - in my opinion, they really 'think about it', and find the solution on the other side of the body (for example), or from our lifestyle and exposure. Dr Berg said something about the neurons -- I assume that is where the breakdown happens -- and there's always other ways to rebuild. I have never had success with any psychiatric medications, however I follow a plan I created with advice from holistic practitioners that includes what Dr B suggests in this video and it worked incredibly well. Also I would suggest making sure that you include an integrative medicine practitioner. They will be more likely to want to work with someone who wants to follow a more holistic approach to your care. They understand nutrition and herbal and vitamin interactions much better than a traditional Dr or PCP and will help immensely with the detox process. It takes time, and the adjustment won't be easy but it's absolutely worth it! You will be so happy that you do.

Sandra, I'm from SW Victoria and some doctors here do leave a lot to be desired. Our family doctor has been living in the district for 30 years so I feel very blessed to form a good relationship whilst my kids were growing up. Over the years I've needed a counsellor to hash my crap out with. When I ask my doctor for a new referral, she always goes down the road of offering me an antidepressant, lovan etc. I always say no thanks.. Not everybody needs that medication as a first choice. Sometimes we just need coping strategies.. This is a really great channel and starting to get into a bit more gut health. The gut to brain axis is really important when it comes to mental health and anxiety. Unfortunately our doctors aren't educated about recommending "prebiotics and probiotics be taken" when they write the prescriptions for medications that destroy our gut microbiome.. Contributes to fuzzybrain that can lead to depression in some people. Hey good luck finding a doctor that you can build a relationship with. It can be tricky, especially if you live in the city..

Thank you Dr. Berg for bringing this subject to light. My daughter takes Pristiq an antidepressant CNS. There have been 2 incidents I witnessed lately where she became incapacitated after drinking alcohol. (like Rohypnol). She seemed to be slipping into a zombie-like state but it was time to go home. I called her at 3:33am, to make sure she made it home. She was in a dream-like state & she didn't know where she was, she couldn't even find her apartment. I asked her to look at a street sign and tell me what cross street she was near & I would come there and let her follow me home, but she said she couldn't see anything & that everything was black. When I found out how confused she was I tried to keep her on the phone (like a 911 operator) - she drove around lost for 4 hours, like an Alzheimer's patient. I told her to put the car in park and try to sleep it off & drive home in the morning. I talked to her friend and she takes an antidepressant Lexapro and she said ''I can relate the last night I had out I blacked out and woke up naked in a motel room with a band.'' So anyone could go up to them - grope them, rob them or anything - & they wouldn't have any defenses or memory of what happened. (forgetfulness a side-effect). I might try to get a class-action lawsuit against the makers. PS: I read - @jlynn6445's "Weaned self off'' info on getting off psych drugs. Very helpful comment. -- She weaned herself off of Paxil many years ago. Split them in half for a month. Then the next month split the halves in half. For two weeks I took a half of a half every day then went to every other day till they were gone and never got again.

I switched to a grain free dairy free whole fruits n veggies with meat diet to come off anti-psychotics. I had a twenty year bout with Xanax from a viral illness. Landed me on the antipsychotics (vraylar). I'm perfect now! I take n.a.c. and glutathione plus a b complex twice a day with a strict diet. It's hell but you can do it too.

I went from seroquel 300mg to 50mg. I then switched to antidepressant, trazadone. Eventually I was able to stop that as well. The trazadone helped me transition off of seroquel and eventually get off meds altogether. I’m not sure if that can help you.

You probably need to up your fat and I would suggest that you don't fast. Some people do worse with fasting. I get cold and tired and headaches with fasting. And also take some trace mineral drops. Or electrolytes. And don't just take a little electrolytes make sure you gradually increase it. You will definitely feel better.

There is a phone number below his video. 1-540-299-1556 to speak with a keto consultant. I would try that first as they should be able to point you in the right direction. For myself, i would 1.go back to the point i was last doing well, whether on or off keto, and do that while doing #2. Get a full physical from a medical doctor before starting-to test for underlying medical conditions. 3. Do the healthy keto course. 4.after medical approval, then start again on a gradient, utilizing all the tools i could find and ease into it. Maybe find a friend to do it with. best of luck to you!!

Meaning I will still indulge with occasional healthy fruits and very selective and portioned startches & grains, such as rice, oatmeal and potatos. But that will be for one meal, not All of the 3 in the same day.🙏 I look forward to sending you my "After" picture!

In some parts of the world doctors unfortunately are incentivized to prescribe psychotic drugs by the manufacturers, and though not all, unfortunately some do fall for those incentives. Dear people please do try alternative methods before using those drugs. Most of them are such that the body grows dependent on the drug.

Coming off Paxil is a horror story you do not want to experience. I was not successful with the pill splitting strategy however success is possible if you find a doctor that will recommend a liquid suspension form of the drug. You take this with a syringe by mouth. This form allows much better control of the dosage for tapering off.

What if Doctors have never been formally trained in slow, safe tapering methods? Serious question...my Doctor came close to killing me with his”so called” slow taper! 12 Doctors later I found out they don’t believe in Withdrawals past two weeks. Hello, Dr Berg, I hope you are well. I am a 33 years old female, 168cm, my weight was 60.5 kg, my goal was to get into a better shape during this depressing indoor covid time...right now I am in a weird phase after been doing intermittent fasting 16/8 + running 25 mins + HIIT 15 mins 5 days a week, along with the high fat/ portion and low carb diet for 15 days. My morning blood keto level is always around 2.7-3.4 mmol/L with glucose level around 4-4.5mmol/L, altho my weight only down 1.2kg so far, but my waistline down 7cm and my body fat % down from 32% to 27%. However, all the numbers stopped going down 5 days ago. I have tried everything you suggested- apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, fish oil, potassium and Vb+Vd supplements, even with a few days pushed to 19-20 hrs fasting. But the numbers just won't move down anymore. I am currently doing my PhD, I want to do 24-48 hrs fasting to breakthrough, but it won't be possible with my work schedule, and even with 19-20 hrs fasting, I started feeling so hungry around 8pm in front of my desk. I am not sure what else more I can do in this situation. Thank you so much for your time to read and help! Very appreciate!

Can you recommend safe and effective supplements for me as I taper off 100mg seroquel ( taken for several months)? The side-effects i get from this poison are many and quite debilhtating but even tapering off slowly I still experience withdrawals. I was prescribed them for anxiety and insomnia but they have worsened the anxiety and only barely improved sleep.. now as I taper down, I'm left with much less sleep and much worse anxiety though I'm only beginning taper.. my doctor is totally gaslighting me as have all the others. Wish I never went near psychiatrists but it was through desperation.

Yes! Here are the recommendations 👉 It may be best to start with a diet change. Healthy keto and intermittent fasting may help affect your brain in a positive way. This will lay a foundation to make it easier to come off of the medication. Other things that may help: • Exercise • Vitamins • Minerals • Trace minerals • Essential fats
