Translation initiation in eukaryotes - This lecture explains about the initiation of translation in eukaryotes. Eukaryotic translation initiation is the most important as well as most complicated process among all the other stages of protein synthesis process in eukaryotes.
each prokaryotes and eukaryotes provoke protein synthesis with a specialised methionyl‐tRNA based on an AUG initiation codon. Eukaryotes, nevertheless, use an initiator met-tRNA met I-that's not formylated. Cognizance of the initiator AUG can also be different. Just one coding sequence exists per eukaryotic mRNA, and eukaryotic mRNAs are capped. Initiation, thus, makes use of a specialized cap‐ binding initiation component to function the mRNA on the small ribosomal subunit. On the whole, the first AUG after the cap (that is, 3′ to it) is used for initiation.
