I have a vertx contingency duffel that I use for travel. I travel every single week for work and live out of it the entire time I’m not at home and I love it. I’ve had it for over two years with absolutely 0 wear and tear. Planes, trucks, work, camping, that bag goes with me everywhere. I can’t recommend it enough. It has great storage and compartments for keeping stuff separated and accessible. And my favorite parts is the concealment pocket that fits more than you’d expect. Every man should own one of these bags!

"I'm pretty cheap and only have one pair of the Raptor shears." Also, "I got Airpods max for the plane rides." 🤣 Just bustin' your chops. Lol Great loadout for travel! I only travel a long way maybe once a year, but this would keep me ready for anything. I really want to try out the Ready Pack 2.0. I edc with the transit sling and it holds everything I use everyday for work, but the one strap can make my shoulder a bit sore if I'm packing heavy and walking around a lot. Also, very little organization for cords and such. Great for off-body carry though.

I have worn sun glasses every time I’ve gone outside since I was 16, am 50 now. Natural sun light actually hurts my eyes w/o shades on. Anyways I absolutely agree Mike, I’ve used safety rated shades (ANSI Standard) since 18 yrs old. I was required to wear them for work so I just made a habit of always using them for everyday use!

Hey Mike, Hope you feel better soon man. Funny story as to why you should always keep gloves around. I was driving along on an interstate and a semi truck kicked a rock up and it busted out my driver side window. Thankfully it didn't hit me, but the window basically partially shattered all over me. I was able to reach from my position into my vehicle edc kit and grab some rubberized gloves and was able to also grab a contractors trash bag as well. I laid the bag open on my lap and slowly began removing the pieces of my window and moving them into the bag. I eventually got the majority of the glass cleaned up and was able to get out and shake off the rest. It just goes to show you why being prepared and having the mindset of having what you need when you need it can pay off.

Hope you feel better! Quick question on travel- with all the kit in your truck, do you try and get a ride to the airport or do you park your truck (with all that kit) at the airport? And if you park there, what kind of precautions would you take to cover up your kit, or is there anything that you take out of the truck if you're planning on leaving it somewhere?

Okay, a [long] video deserves a [long] comment. Let me start with Apple. I for the same reasons have gone Apple. Everything works together from my MacBook to my iPad Pro to my iPhone Pro to my iWatch to my AirPods. Being able to respond to messages thru iMessage is huge. I never learned to use my thumbs to type on a cell phone. Thank you for telling us about the AirPod Max those are aawwssoommee!!! I will definitely be getting a pair of them. I am still a big Windows fan. For things that need real computer work I will go to Windows. I do all of my video editing on a Windows machine with at least 32GB of RAM. Next topic, zip lock bags. I just collect the ones I get when I buy parts and multi-items. I have quite the collection in various sizes. Thank you for showing us the UAG case for the Apple iWatch. I am a huge UAG fan. I have a rugged case for my iPhone and a bright orange rubberized case for my AirPods. I 100% concur with you on all things orange. Money and credit cards, hmmm… 🤔. I currently live in a concentrated urban area, Washington, D.C. I need credit cards for most things. There is very, very little that you can do with Apple Pay or other pay app. Maybe out in La-La Land (California) you can do everything with a cellphone app, but that is not the rest of the country. You travel quite a bit, so you know what what I am talking about. Cash 💵; I always carry cash. I use it very rarely, but when I need it I need it right now. I carry all my cards and currency in a Ridge wallet. The best front pocket wallet ever made. I trifold my currency under the money clip on the wallet. Pelican cases - I have a ton of them from very small to very large. They are the best cases in the world. Thank you for the video. I learned a lot.

Man, I sure wish I’d bought the Vertx duffel instead of the gigantic Fieldcraft tarp bag (gen 1). It has no pockets, dividers, etc. It’s just a gigantic vinyl tube. Gotta carry cash, when ya need it ya need it NOW! I recently went to my local store during a thunderstorm, I literally watched the lights go out and immediately back on as I drove up. I knew it would take a few mins for their system to reboot (no big deal, SO I THOUGHT)! When I entered they told me CASH ONLY, their POS (Point of Sale) had been down for hours so they couldn’t take any cards or any electronic payments. I had to drive twice as far out of my way to the other store to use my card. If I had cash on me, I’d have been in/out in mins and home. So now I have spare cash on me ALWAYS, inside my phone case. Just takes a sec to pop out my ph grab my cash and go. (And I won’t do that inside of the store or in public view).

Question- which vertx pack would you suggest for edc? Edc ready pack or gamut? Only things I typically carry is a med kit, small kit like you have that you carry everything in, gym clothes & shoes, phone chargers and maybe a tablet. that’s pretty much it.not sure if the edc ready pack is big enough for all that or if I’d have to go to a gamut .
