Trending Champorado
Champorado is a classic Filipino comfort food that is usually served at mid afternoon snack. It is made of glutinous rice and tablea; usually you can use sugar or condensed milk for sweetener. Champorado is like a porridge but has a chocolate flavor and has a creamy texture. It is also often eaten with milk and you can top it with dried anchovies.
For todays video we will make the trending Champorado in Caloocan. They add Hershey's and Ube flavor to make a modern style champorado. It is a unique and flavorful twist to the typical Filipino Champorado.
Hershey's Champorado:
2 cups malagkit na bigas
5 cups water(more if needed)
500g Hershey's chocolate(more or less)
1 cup Hershey's cocoa powder
1 cup white sugar(more or less)
1/2 cup evaporated milk(optional)
1/2 cup powdered milk(optional)
Ube Champorado:
2 cups malagkit na bigas
5 cups water(more if needed)
1 1/2 cups Ube halaya
2 cups gata
2-3 tbsp ube flavor
1 cup white sugar(more or less)
1/2 cup evaporated milk(optional)
1/2 cup powdered milk(optional)
