@@JeffC-fq1be I don't think so. John McLaughlin is great no doubt but next to the great Mr Beck I would have to put Jan akkerman of focus followed by Al Di Meola Steve Howe Allan Holdsworth Robert Fripp Ritchie Blackmore Tony Iommi John McLaughlin Martin Pugh. Now how's that for a list haha
@JeffC-fq1be

@@edljnehan2811 There are people who put Eric Clapton first. Not me. I'll take McLaughlin all day long. I don't know of anyone who can play Indian, Eastern, acoustic, classical, swing, rock, jazz, fusion, flamenco, AND whatever else I missed at such a high level. No one.
@edljnehan2811

@@JeffC-fq1be first off Eric Clapton sucks and like Phil Collins decided to be a popstar so right off the bat I have no use for him. You need to listen to more of Jan akkerman from Focus. He can play everything you described and better that's why I have him second to the great Jeff Beck. I've said my entire life there is nobody better than Jeff Beck but now that he's deceased the crown goes to Jan akkerman. Don't get me wrong I know the Majesty of John McLaughlin and he has a hardcore following ever since I was in high school back in the early seventies however there are a few better if you'll just recheck my list you'll find them. That's why I made that list for you and others education. However I made one mistake I left out Paisan Joe Satriani who I would probably put after Jan akkerman moving everyone on the list down one spot. Thank you peace and out
