Nice to see old man skate good. Theres no way any as good feels on skate than a proper controlled fs tailslide!

Thank you, your method is very enlightening. I am currently guiding my son in learning this trick, so I have searched through almost every video on KZitem that teaches FS Tailslide. However, I noticed that all the videos focus on how to slide, while our problem occurs in the first step: it is challenging to lock the tail onto the ledge, aka it is hard to Ollie to Tail Stall. I am not sure if this is a common issue for other new learners. This is an under-rotated FS Ollie, so should we perfect the FS 180 before attempting the Ollie to Tail Stall?

The most important part is being able to stall it consistently. Having a good fs 180 is helpful, definitely.

I find that it helps me if I tell myself that I am doing a 5-0 but land in a tailslide. Kinda helps me not to over rotate so I can come out regular

Dude!!! You should totally try front tail to pop into switch crook, since your shoulders are already used to turning into fakie.

Thanks for showing us what it is like to miss them first. That is 99% of my skating 😂. Great video. The slow motion clips do help when watching foot placement and shoulder movements. Tailslide is a trick I think every skater wants to get down regardless of age or style of skater. Stay Rad Sir.

Even though I can do these I can’t hold them for a decent distance, any tips?

Leaning into the slide helps, wax, more pushes, haha. I'm definitely not an expert, but I'd say focus on leaning toward the ledge or curb a little. Most of your weight on your tail.

How many fingers of flat does that have vs the april? I skate the same setup and my ollies and kickflips are low compared to the ishad true fit 8.25. Looking for a happy medium. Skate better on the April but my oomph just isn’t there

@@KevinNiceTry for the longest time, I’ve been doing tailslides with a parallel approach to the obstacle. Especially for bs tails. Tried your angled approach definitely helped with the fs tail lock ins. Thanks!

I tried learning front tails on a red curb a few years ago and slipped out and somehow hit my tailbone on the edge of the curb. Never tried one since lol. Good trick tip video though. I like the baby steps and live commentary. Much more helpful than the typical "ollie, turn, slide" tutorials i normally see
