We went fishing today and caught not one, not two, but three increasingly bigger steelhead!
I kicked the skunk out of the boat with a nice 10-12lb shiny hen.
Then near the end of the day, John hooked into a super nice 18-19lb buck. Hell yea!
But THEEEEEEN, by instruction of Danny, Brandon tossed a jig into a fishy looking seem, and his bobber went down the instant it hit the water and it didn't move an inch. A damn dinosaur inhaled his jig, and the FIGHT WAS ON!
After a short time in a small pool it took off down river and the chase started, literally. Brandon had no choice but to trudge down river after the hog, only to find it holding behind a rock. Fast forward, and it pops out and heads further down, to a decent spot where the fight continues.
22 minutes passed from start to finish when Danny tail grabbed (no net!) this estimated 25lb behemoth and landed Brandon's largest steelhead of his life. It was top 10 according to Danny in his professional career guiding steelhead fisherman.
It's only day one of three on the river, so we'll have to do our best to top this, but I fear we'll be hard pressed after this adventure!
