Actually... The 1st generation trucks were built pre-1994 on the old Dodge D/W- style chassis, and the 6bt engines in those trucks had Bosch VE or rotary style injection pumps. But don't take my word for it. According to dieselresource.com The term 2nd generation Cummins refers to Dodge diesel pickups between 1994-2002. There are two variations of the 2nd gen Cummins though. 1994-1998 trucks feature 12 valves and are very similar to the previous trucks engines. 1998.5-2002 trucks , have the 5.9L Cummins engine with 24 valves. Here's a link to that article. dieselresource.com/diesel-resources/2nd-generation-5-9l-cummins-specs/#:~:text=The%20term%202nd%20generation%20Cummins,Cummins%20engine%20with%2024%20valves. Thank you for an informative walk through. The video is what I needed to be comfortable working on my own '95 Ram AC System.

Some argue against introducing air into the system. In a perfect world it might not be the best idea. That said mine is still working a couple years later.

@@JayLewisFarmStyle, the system was already empty. In a perfect world, the drier should be changed too. There is a big difference between professional tech practice, and working on your own vehicle.

Yes, the orifice tube is supposed to be at the location you pointed out. It wasn’t until 98 that the orifice tubes were relocated to the low pressure line.

@@JayLewisFarmStyle this video definitely helped out I appreciate you for putting it out there. I checked for the crimp on the low side where it sits near the air box for some reason I came realize it was for me in the front thank you sir !

Were you able to run across a part number for that low side port? I am having a time finding one.

Are you talking about the hard line or just the valve itself?

You are supposed to NEVER put compressed air into a system! Always use dry nitrogen! Compressed air introduces moisture into the system.

You're probably not wrong. That being said it is still working, so at least I'm not a complete failure... Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Stop leak is a no no. You will swell all your seals. Other than that good job. Anytime your system is open or leaked down you should replace your accumulator or filter drier.
