I had a dog years ago diagnosed with spondylosis and arthritis, we allowed him to swim, it helped alot, and to relieve pain for his arthritis we gave him green lipped mussel extract and a chondroitin mixed supplement, hope Shiva finds relief from the acunpuncture, sad to see our furkids in pain. That drill is fantastic a real time saver, nice progress.👍💜

Aaaw, Sorry to hear about your doggo - it really is heartbreaking to see them in any kind of distress. I have put Shiva on CBD oil to help with some anxiety and finally (after 2 years of testing various products available here) found a joint supplement that works for him! And it is making a big difference - contains some mussel extract, but Boswelia is the wonder ingredient there ;) The drill is amazing - honestly - life changing - haha! x

Hi Chritine, nce work on the eat storage.instead of building up the front wall of your seating you could run a beam along the instaid of the front wall. This will definitely be easier, quicker and more easily levelled than working with cement.. Then by adding a couple of cross beams (front to back) for the inner edges of the seat tops to rest on you would have more support for the seat without sacrificing much storage space

Thanks Graeme! Yes, that is also an option. Aesthetically I would still need to build up that front wall maybe though - but maybe I can play around with the idea and see what I come up with! Thanks! :D

Looks good. I love the stain color. If you add a support board as you have on the back and sides to the front that will help stabilize it a lot and solve the un levelness of the masonry.😊

Thanks! Definitely an option to consider - especially once the area becomes seating - at the moment it is just for the TV - but more support to strengthen is always a good idea :)

It really is!! And I'm also a firm believer in buying good products that will last as opposed to a cheap product that will only last a few times. Good tools, and the right tools, are an investment :) I'm learning all the time :) x

Great job,on all counts Christine! Glad Shiva is reacting well to the acupuncture. That big daddy drill surely makes a difference and will make your life easier when tackling other drilling tasks too. The trough seating/lids look amazing and the wood stain colour fits in so well with your other wood trims. Very useful ... storage as well as seating. Hope your firewood lasts till end of winter😅 Good going, Christine 😊

If you first reverse your drill bit it will then guide your bit so it doesn't wander when drilling the hold. Hammer drills are awesome! They make jobs so much easier. Having only one hinge in the middle of the center panel will allow it to torque when the lid is lifted and lowered. I recommend you use two hinges on each lid section.

i agree about the one hinge. Especially if you want to sit on it

Thank you for that tip about the drill in reverse! I had not tried that previously - will do! And yes, I agree on the 2 hinges - will add another for stability :) x

I had the same experiences,, Wanted to mount a Cam on my wall,,, drilled and drilled and drilled and got nowhere,, and I was using the most expensive drill that Ryobi had,, with hammer funktion,, 😕 I gave up! but then saw that Cindy Vine had a Ryobi SDS Hammer drill (I think the one you got there is also an SDS (the weird drill bits)) But I copied Cindy and got the Ryobi R18SDS-0 (my video 1271) and then the hole took like 5 seconds... _Awesome!! 🙂

Hi, Adjust the front handle to 3pm or 9 pm not 6pm as that will stop you drilling at an angle, if handle is hitting a wall or object when at 3 move to 9pm position

Can you sit on this. It be a nice place to have a cushion to do some work. The doggies could hop on and sit by you while you work.

Absolutely Ruth. I tested it and the idea in the long-run is to turn it into additional seating for the lounge area and make a nice plump cushion for the top of it - but at the moment it is the TV stand. :)
