This was a nice series. I have an 85 Horse model that still runs like new, but is weeping some oil from the gear case. Not enough yet to warrant rebuilding, but it is nice to know what is involved. It seems this channel has been dormant for 6 years so I hope the author hasn’t left youtube or had health issues.

Hi, you really did an awesome job rebuilding that troy-built tiller. It did a great job tilling the ground. Thank you for the nice comment you gave me on my shop. Pete

Userunavailable: thank you for your kind words. I am glad you enjoyed watching these videos and encourage you to try repairs for your self. I too have learned a great deal by watching others here on youtube. I do plan on making more videos but have to force my to take the time to record them since it is quicker to just do the job without recording. Stay tuned.

Very nicely done. I'm quite impressed. Its a real pleasure to watch a good mechanic work. I don't watch TV anymore. If I'm sitting, I'm watching someone's how to video/project. I figure its a better use of my time, and I actually learn things. I'm using a borrowed Troybilt, and may do some work on it in future for my use of it, which is why I was watching this, but I learned things I can use on other projects. I actually feel like I could do this now, although I don't know if I'd tackle the fabrication parts. You did a really good job of teaching. I have subscribed and brought you to the attention of some friends. I hope you are planning on making more videos in future.

Great job. I’m rebuilding tine shaft bearings and seals. All bearings look good. Seal shot pretty bad. Tine axel shaft was very loose. I hope reducing the plastic shims will take up the slack. We’ll see as soon as I get my parts. Thanks for the vid. Steve, Plymouth, MA

Thanks Sam. I am glad you enjoyed them. Hopefully all is done but I am not sure about the engine, it maybe trouble in the near future. If it is there maybe videos on rebuilding a Tecumseh engine.

Very good videos. Just watched all of them. Where did you get your .pdf of the parts and assembly info? I would like to go through mine, but can't find that info.

Great series! I have a 92 PTO Horse. Any tips on reinstalling the PTO clutch lever? Mine was stuck, and I removed tine shaft, repacked grease, and pulled the PTO clutch lever off to clean and inspect. It isn't seating properly, and the tines won't turn as a result.

Could you please explain the final adjustments to the forward engagement you mentioned at the very end of the video, my horse is kicking out of forward into neutral just like yours was doing here. Thanks for sharing this info with us because like you said, you cant find this info anywhere else and there are a lot of these old tillers still out there that need some work on them and it's hard to find good instruction.

The final adjustment was to adjust how far down the roller went over the hump or cam on the adjusting block. It took a little trial and error to find the sweet spot but when adjusted right it works pretty well.
