Regulations are usually considered only after there are accidents or injuries and victims demand action. Happens all the time. I do also believe that the government targets small businesses more because of the lack of resources they would have to go challenge the government on these issues compared to the behemoths like Amazon etc. Still nonetheless, very frustrating for those of us doing everything right and by the book. Ontario has speed limiters, and it's the most dangerous state/province to drive in, and they are the worst drivers when you see them in the US too. Instead of slowing down to let a vehicle merge in front of them, they change lanes, cut quicker cars off, and stall the left lane causing congestion. It's a disaster.

As a small business owner of a roadside mobile diesel repair service for 28 years, this is the worst I've seen it. I went from 5 to 7 service calls a day to hardly getting 5 a week. When truckers hit the repair side hurts as well. Most over charge customers on repairs because they have to meet the ovdrwhelmeing overhead a month. I'm a very small buisness owner who went from having a brand new built from the ground up shop for 3.5 years to closing my doors just 8 months ago. Buisness was o beautiful and I thought I was actually on my way to a better financial future after all those years of hard work. I try to lower my cost to help truckers in these trying times but so many have left the industry its affecting my home life. This is not the industry to be in if you dont have financial backing and the strong will to continue to fight. This industry is taking the small man down through there. This will be my last year in this buisness. I too am hanging up my wrenches because it's just not worth it anymore to be a trucker or mechanic. I feel sorry for the truckers who stay in it and toir truck breaks down, because theres a guy with a wrench ready to rob you blind. I love this young lady's podcast I'm a subscriber and shes keeps me informed on what's going on.

The trucking industry has the ability to cripple the country and economy. No trucks, no stuff. However, if through regulations only the excessively large companies exist, then government negotiations only need to be made with a few to keep the country running. Elimination of drivers by way of autonomous trucks will aid the excessively large companies to manage labor costs, prevent labor organization, strikes, and well as other demands. The end result has been carefully planned. But like building a skyscraper, it takes years to implement. We are experiencing the middle of the construction phase. Y'all have a great day now😂😂
