Thank you! I've been struggling with my balance from day 1 at yoga. This seems so simple but it being explained is a game changer.

Thank you Joe. Your good teaching step by step clarification helps me. I am 77 years old and having problem standing on one leg (tree pose); so, I always stand next to the wall.

So helpful. I really like the demonstration path that you designed. Since balance is challenged when one closes one eyes, does the (outer) sight play a role? Or just a trick of the brain? 😊 Thank you for this video.

Thank you, Joe. I've been doing the standing lotus for years but cannot keep balance for more than 5-6 seconds. Yes, my body and back are straight in the pose. What is it I am not understanding? Thanks again.
@JoeMiller108

That's hard for me to answer, since I haven't seen you in the pose, and balance is so multi-factorial. The feet, hips, spine, vision and the vestibular system all play a role. Also, even though it might be frustrating, I think it's good to remember that most people will lose their balance in standing balances, at least occasionally, Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but good luck with it.

Keep the lifted foot on the ankle of the standing leg..that will help ... precaution never put the lifted foot on the knee joint of standing leg

How many true beginners can balance with their knee placed that high. O%. Rethink what true beginners need, basic balance Exercises, not this!
