Just to clear some things... "Svezi krofi" means "fresh donuts" and most of the food you ate (cevapcici, burek, pasulj) could be described more as Balkan (Serbian/Bosnian) and not so much as Slovene.

You guys were eating Bosnian and Serbian fast food from a kiosk with mayo and ketchup and commenting on Slovenian food. And that was not a beaver but nutria or coypu that were introduced to Slovenia when they escaped from farms where they were farmed for their fur and they spread. We call them water rats. And in Slovenia we have so many great vegan dishes (ajdova kaša z jurčki, njoki z lisičkami, ajdovi žganci s kislim mlekom). It is the same like me going to Italy and going to low quality cheap Chinese restaurant there and commenting on Italian food. The only thing that was Slovenian was the štrudel. The donuts you had were industrial and poor quality as well, but not too shabby with apricot jam, not peach.

Guys, you are very nice, I hope you had good time here in Slovenia! But sorry, you haven't tried Slovenia's traditional dishes at all. You tried food ( pljeskavica, čevapčiči, burek) which is from Balkan, jabolčni zavitek (apfelstrudel)'s and krof (krapf) origins are from Austria. Of course we eat all this, but we have also many authentic Slovenia's dishes, as gibanica, kranjska klobasa, sirovi štruklji etc...so maybe next time you can try it. It's worth! ;) There are many restaurants where you can get it, some with Micheline's stars, if you want to enyoj best of the best :)

At 6:40 not sure if you were joking, but that animal wasn't a beaver, it was a ragondin / nutria. It's an invasive rodent from South America. Anyway nice vid, that cevapi sandwich looked really good.

The only thing that was slovenian is that apple cheese dish in Sokol and krofi. :D
@nino96able

Ok, I understand your point but by that logic nothing of those two are Slovenian either. Apple strudel is originally from Austria and krofi are donuts that are originally from US. Slovenia has many influence from neighbouring countries (and US) and each one has it's own unique dishes to offer. That doesn't mean if we eat this food in Slovenia aswell that somehow it isn't our food. I suppose you agree that Idrijski Žlikrofi are authentic Slovenian food. Well, the thing is that if the same logic is implied to this dish, we could also say that žlikrofi (dumplings) originate from Asian countries (like Japan). And Golaž from Hungary. And so on and so on. Maybe those aren't the best examples but I hope you get the point.

@@nino96able krofi are also from Austria no us, and Lovski golaž is more of a slovenian dish than regular golaž, jabolčni štrudel z skuto, is a slovenian dish since skuta is a slovenian cheese, but it's a version of an Austrian dish. Idrijski žlikrofi are not the same as Chinese. There is a lot of authentic foods like žganci, mohant, gibanica... That are not seen anywhere else. Something like kranjska klobasa is also popular in Germany and Austria and is referred to as Carniolan. The point is, its hard to have a completely authentic dish considering your neighbouring countries and the ingredients used in them.
