I was there. Exactly on Ali'i Drive last year in February. Beautiful.

I will never understand why people go to the beach when they know a tsunami is coming.

Am I hearing the tsunami alert siren in the background? I've had sirens going off all around me today, (both IRL and watching storm chase videos) and I'm at the point where I think I'm hearing them, even if I'm not...

While the tsunami wasn't very big.. I still don't get why people flock to the waters edge to see it. I would have gone up into a tall sturdy building and watched what was happening, but I am not going to stand there and see how big it is going to get. After seeing all the idiots in Thailand who got taken out.. That should have sent a really strong message to anyone who witnesses the bay emptying.

They had begun allowing people down there (that's why we went down to it; the cops left) and then the surges continued. Most people thought the surges were pretty much over.

That WAS the tsunami. They come in all shapes and sizes, from a few inches to many meters tall.

What do you mean by "No Tsunami"? That was a perfect example of a SMALL Tsunami. IF that had been a large one that camera man would have died. Many in the 2011 Tsunami did die because they had no idea how big it would get. By the time they realized HOW bad it was.. it was too late.

This was a pretty benign location to shoot the tsunami surges at this point. The people standing on the dock and/or the seawall in town were at a lot more risk, judging by those videos that are also posted on KZitem.
